Mike Gundy Tired of Talking Bedlam, Calls Out OU for Gaslighting the Situation

He told people to stop asking about. Why would we be the only one not playing cupcakes.

Say we play uo, Alabama and bosie. Will that make our team better. It would make the tv deal better. Somebody named tomato slice said it was easy to get out of games. Pointing to uo get out of the sec games. Even tho the league told them to. I suppose if sec wanted them we could get out of all our sec ones. And work out the other. Alabama wouldnt even play the schedule some of you want to play. If we play up i want it late in the year.

The administration is more pissed off about what OU did than Gundy. That should be obvious. We don’t need to and shouldn’t play OU ever again unless we meet them in a bowl. He’s talking about it because people keep asking him about it. He told people he’s tired of talking about it and doesn’t want to keep doing so…

The only response I think that could have been better by this is if OSU came back and said, “If you want to continue to play us pay us a few million of that SEC money and we’ll be happy to play a game.”

First of all swapping teams like Alabama for OU isn’t eliminating the cup cakes and second of all I’d rather see us play Alabama, and the other P5 schools on our schedule, over OU

Gundy is a statistics guy. That’s how he used to do his play calling.
Same thing here with OU. Statistics show in black and white that oSu has very little chance of beating OU in football. It has happened, but not enough times to bet your money on the Cowboys winning Bedlam. Without having to play OU, the Cowboys someday might have a legit chance to run the table and come out undefeated. That would be unlikely if still playing OU. Gundy is a futurist. He seems to know what’s coming down the pike, and he prepares for that. It could be a blessing in disguise that we never again play OU. We will play them in wrestling so we can wipe the mat with them. We’ll meet them in tournaments and regionals in golf, same goes for baseball.

I don’t have much issue with what Gundy had to say. Like most of y’all I know fans on both sides of bedlam. I’m OU, but I know lots of Sooners and lots of Pokes and none (including me) really care if this game continues or not. The media and message boards like these are all I see with any real agenda over it. Gundy did take a shot with the “followed Texas” line lol….but hey it’s bedlam and I would not expect any less of him. OU and Texas did exactly what any school in the country would have done if given the opportunity…. Yes even OSU. Hell before it’s all said and done it won’t shock me if OSU ends up in the SEC or Big 10. The move in my opinion is what’s best for both schools. With the playoff expansion OU just has to finish top 3 or 4 in the SEC and OSU will very likely make several playoffs themselves in the new Big 12. Let’s hope Beldam ends with a classic and maybe meet up in the expanded playoffs down the road.

The B12 has already said uo isn’t getting in our conference in wrestling according to Seth. I hope we resume playing them at some point. They snubbed their nose at us for years, my best part of Gundys statement yesterday was “ they had been negotiating with the SEC for months and do you think Bedlam ever came up at any point in the negotiations ? No they and Texas followed the money “ that pretty much Did it up for me they want their cake and eat it too. Contracts are broken all the time. It could be scheduled almost any year. Oregon St owes us a game which they blame on Covid ? They still owe us a game. Baseball will still continue, I don’t know about Texas but uo for sure.

If seth is rite then it sound like uo is trying to get out of big brothers shadow. Everybody talks football record, but its worse for them in wrestling.

Did seth say where they wete going. Where every they go its going to be alot of travel. Pac, acc or mac. I dnt know if mac will take another ex big 12 team after what mizzou did.

Seth said he called the B12 office to see if uo would be allowed in the conference in wrestling. He said they said it wasn’t even in consideration and were adamant that it would be a big no.
They did the same with Missouri, kept them out for 10 years ? They are back in this year.
OU will have to go to Mountain West or something :joy::joy:

I would think acc or pac. Uo is still a good program. Wouldnt add enough to some leagues compared what they will take.
You get so many automatic seed ou jioning mountain or mac mite get them a couple more. But they could take 10 spots. Mac already did it with Mizzou. .

ACC is a good conference, they have a few good programs. Would be a lot of traveling for a sport that doesn’t bring many dollars in. Missouri will make ours a lot tougher. Hopefully it will make John wake up that we need to bring better guys or get them in the portal. I don’t think I’ve seen us lose as many matched as last year. The Vinovich (sp) kid seems to be a good kid. Fix can’t seem to finish…. It’s a puzzle to me

Not as long as Iowa State and Baylor are still in the league.

How did that Iowa St work out for you last year, especially being the favorite in some places and the dark horse everywhere

There you go again joy picking random games from 10 years ago and everything in between. Should we go back to the 90’s too. Those were awesome years weren’t they. You’re just a chronic biotcher

Iowa State jinx is easy to fix. Send Gundy down to the Big EZ in order to hire an authentic voodoo specialist to remove the obvious dark curse.
