I’m as pissed off at Gundy as anyone right now and I love him. But if you think knowles leaving was just about money your not thinking clear, he’s going to be the DC at a top 5 (maybe 10) program of all time, be closer to his origin and be paid a ton of money. You don’t turn that down

I’m sure they are putting a list together but looking at team stats maybe the guy from Pitt or the guy from Syracuse? We did pretty good with an ACC guy this last time. And we can easily beat their salaries. I’ve seen people mention the Minnesota DC on here already.

Knowles was great, but he’s gone. Let’s bid him a fond farewell and start finding the next guy.

I echo those same feelings. Be interesting to know the details of his contract but if you want big time football you have to pay for it. I don’t like where college football is headed, but under the new rules, the ability to pay more for quality players and coaches gives you the best chance to compete at the highest level. This seems like a bad sign. New AD and President were expected to be more committed to paying to be a big time program.

I know. I also made a comment regarding that as well. I’m sure the Big 12 championship performance didn’t help us out here.

I definitely agree on that. But I don’t think money would’ve been the sole seller here, I mean he’s going to one of college football’s premier spots

At least match what they’re offering. Then let him make his own decision. How do you plan on competing when you won’t pay what it takes? If he wants to coach a team competing for Nattys yearly at least make him think about the decision by offering him at least what they will. They made it an easy decision for him.

Gundy needs to get a two for one deal. He needs to get a new DC and a new OC as well.

Wasnt Dunn a receivers coach and recuiter and then threaten to quit? so thats why Gundy promoted him to OC? bad decision.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t. But at least make me make a decision. He was left with a no brainer situation. More money and a more prestigious job. That’s what upsets me the most. We didn’t give ourselves a chance.

I heard between 1.5 and 1.8 which is still about million less than what he’s supposedly getting at Ohio state.
