Well that’s not technically gundys job. His job is to find competent people, it’s up to the ad and other parties to pay them

I honestly think universities have way more money after covid. The extreme contracts and wild amounts of money being spent by others makes me think it was a pretty profitable time for universities.

I have been listening on the radio and reading these comments for the last 2 days and I’ve never heard so much WHINY CRYBABY MAMBY PAMBY B.S! Some of these so called oSu Fans need to grow some COJONES! We lost our starting center, our No 1 back and our slot receiver had the flu and now our defensive coordinator is bettering himself. LIFE GETS LIFEY! So get over it!

I’ll admit I overreacted after the loss, im still very pissed at the play calling but all in all a pretty dang good season. Sucks to lose knowles but we’ll figure it out

None of us know what motivated Knowles to jump ship. It might not have been the salary. He seems like a chess player, he might have wanted to play the game on a larger scale at a school that has frequent chances to go for a national championship. Who knows?
I recently posted yesterday that we should not give him a blank check for doing a good job of what he was already being paid to do. Gundy will now do what he has done in the past. He will go online to look at statistics of defenses and then contact the guys at schools who have the best stats. That is how he stole Knowles from Duke. I would not be upset with our administration. Blame Knowles if you want to put the blame on someone. Ever since Jimmy Johnson acheived success coaching at OSU, we have become a stepping stone for coaches to move on to higher levels. I trust Gundy on the next hire. I don’t trust him on his decisions for 4th and short yardage, but on hiring assistant coaches I trust him. Of course, it might not hurt to do a group prayer for him NOT to hire from within!

Who were the defensive coordinators after Tim Beckman? Was it Bill Young, Glenn, and then Jim? Or was there someone before Bill after Tim? It’s been so long now.
Definitely felt like it was a mistake to let it drag on to the end of the season and then start on the new contract. And so it was. Just like Underwood. New OSU AD sure seems like the previous one, too tight with the wallet when it counts. I guess the big gamble on Ford that failed so miserably has made them too cautious. I guess the upside is that losing Underwood got us Boynton, who’s a work in progress but very promising. We can hope for the same with the defense here.
