Well in theory we should never beat ou because of their recurits.
Ur only looking at results. U have to break down every thing to real look at it.
Yes we should have more wins. There were a few games that we could but one play cursed us.
We talked about Snyder, he had alot of big time success in the 90’s. Two reasons there were bad teams in the big 8 and big 12 including Nebraska and ou. The other reason he had a hellofa coaching staff. He did ok after they were poached but not as good as his run. He had a good system.
U can see Gundy’s recurits improving as he keeps his staff.
One thing is even Baylor and tcu has it better then us. I know everybody thinks stillwater is the land of milk and honey for recuirts.

Making a bowl has become a given under Gundy which it was not prior to Gundy. Yes, I understand there was also Boone money involved in that equation.
I don’t know what you mean by competitive. There are years where the Sooners embarrass us, sure, but we have played many many competitive games against the Sooners that went down to the wire. I think it’s unrealistic to think we should be competitive in that game every year. Yes, I would have liked Justin Gilbert to catch that interception. I would have liked Caleb Lavey to stuff the Belldozer like he had done every time that play was called up to the final time when it mattered. I would like more wins, but to say we haven’t been competitive is a lie.
I also don’t know what you mean by “compete” for a conference championship. We haven’t had a conference championship game for that many years. We have finished runner up to OU under Gundy. Is that competing for one?
Who are you pointing to as a model for success for Gundy to follow? Do you want us to be TCU or Baylor? Would you be happy with those results? Ok, maybe K-State knocks OU off sometimes, but then they win 7 games on the season. Is that really a better result?

All in the last 16 years but we’re more competitive than anyone cause we’re going to count close games. No one else has close games, just us.
Tell me if I’m wrong, only the teams that finish 1st and 2nd after conference play get into the conference championship game? According to the conference website OSU has finished 1st once and 2nd once. That’s in the last 16 years.
I understand that winning 8 games and never beating OU is better to you but being competitive in the State would sure be nice. We’ve had some games with Kansas that came down to one score but I don’t consider them competitive. We’ve lost more games to OU in the last 16 years than anyone.
It’s obvious you don’t understand, your reading comprehension is subpar. Forget OU, there’s at least 4 teams in the conference that have finished 1st or 2nd in the conference more than Gundy.
Since gundy has been in the league only ou and Texas finished in true 2nd or better.
Gundy finished 1st once and tied 1st once and tied for 2nd 3 times. Out of those 5 we were 2nd or better 3 times.
And Texas 3 of 4 were per 2010.

The big 12 has issue with how teams finish.
2010 tied for 1st in division actual ther were 5 teams at 6 and 2.
2011 1st
2013 tied for 2nd but lost ou
2015 tied for 2nd beat tcu
2016 tied for 2nd beat west Virginia
I agree with you on 2015 and 2016 and don’t understand why the conference puts TCU ahead of us. But they do the same thing in 2018 by putting us ahead when we lost to the teams we tied with.

How many fewer overall conference wins do you value each Bedlam win? Does the experience of Texas, Tech, and K State in replacing their coach give you any pause?
Texas is interesting, in the last few years they’ve played for a conference championship and went to a NY 6 bowl and through all of their coaching turnovers they still have beaten OU more than any other team in the conference. Yet they are not content and expect to do better. While at OSU we are content with 1 conference title in 20 or 25 years how ever long he decides to draw a salary and not get better.
I find it interesting that so many think 1 conference title 2 Bedlam wins and 1 NY 6 bowl win is all we should expect.
Heck we got all that 10 years ago surely that will suffice for another 10 or 15 years.
