Did u mean results? I mean 7 losing seasons has no hardware. He was 1 and 10 for a season that’s just a little better then then ur buddy pat. I will say bill never got fired twice like miles.
Look are u so obsessed with me u need to continue
Dantonio is the closest example at Michigan State winning 3 conference titles. There are some caveats to that, it looks like prior to Ohio State vacating the 2010 season, that was a 3-way tie for first with Michigan State being the lowest ranked of the 3. 2013 was a Legends and Leaders division split, so they didn’t have Ohio State, Wisconsin or Penn State in their division, but did score the upset against Ohio State in the Championship.
However, the time after the last one in 2015 shows what a razor’s edge you’re on to do it. It is especially hard when you have to play a blue bloods that’s at the top of their game every year.
7 seasons with 11 wins, two conference titles and two times in the conference championship game. Compared to Gundy’s 2-1-0
So bill actual coached 27 years. He is a great coach. But he got on of those 11 win seasons when gundy was a coach.
It was a weird time when bill did his best coaching. Nebraska fired a coach who won a natty. Ou was get toward the end of their bad coach.
Bill had a great group of assist coaches back then to.
But when bill came back it wasn’t as easy. So believe me some of his success was his and some was timing. So I sure we have covered bill to death. Gundy is still r coach so sleep tite.
Gundy has coached during OU’s longest drought from winning a national championship since 1950.
We the 90’s was the worst time in ou history. The were not worried about natty’s or league title they just wanted winning season. No league titles for 12 years.
Not really following why ur saying since the 50’s. Was there not a guy named bud their in the 50’s. Or care.
Goons have 7 Natty’s. The first, which is the starting point to this pissing match, was won in 1950. Titles in 1955, 1956, 1974, 1975, 1985 and 2000 followed. Goons have waited 21 years since their last national title in football. They are currently on their longest Natty drought since prior to 1950, their first ever.
Who cares. I knew what he was saying. But who cares they have had two other long drought in thee 60’s and 90’s. But the 90’s they had troubles winning games.
U say goons are waiting for a natty. Does that mean u too. Ur getting as good as Joey and ar0 on quoting ou stuff. U guys could rite their media guide.
They’re closer to #8 then we are to our first. And 1945 doesn’t count. That banner in the east end zone of BPS is an embarrassment. The 1945 Sugar Bowl was not the national championship game. The AP never awarded us the Natty that year. I’ll never claim it.
Ok why r u talking to me about this? I think u got in late on a string of post I had with ar0. Or maybe u just like talking about ou.
I was just trying to give a timeline of their titles for informative purposes. Carry on!
Yikes. They should probably just hire a good coach to win their 8th.
Yeah, that’s a decent comparison. I could look, but I don’t know off the top of my head what kind of market Mich St. has or how much money they bring in. No nats, though. I guess they made the playoffs and got embarrassed. Honestly, that’s not a huge knock against them. The playoffs make it less likely a non-blueblood is ever going to have a shot again. The more they expand it, the less likely it is. Someone might put together a special run, but it’s not like it was when some outsider could have a great season and then just have to win one big game at the end of the year like OSU’s what-if 2011 scenario when I think we could have beaten LSU. The outsider is probably not going to get premiere seeding and will have to gauntlet through teams with tons of playoff experience and two-deep 5 stars like Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State.
Yes ur rite riley is going backwards.
Funny how his going backwards is still 100% better than Gundy.
He is not done yet. Ur real big on per season hype. If riley doesnt get a natty he has failed. Every one thinks their winner a natty and spencer is get the heisman.
I guess he will be the favorite so he could. He has not won a game he hasn’t been the favorite.
Msu has 6 natty as a school, they are from the 50’ and 60’s.
They have the right coach. Sometimes Riley gets too creative with the play calling, but make no mistake: He’s elite. Sucks for us. Give Grinch another year to get the defense on-track. They’ll have #8 within the next 3 years.
I was being sarcastic. You’re panning Gundy for not knocking OU out, but Riley can’t knock out Clemson and Alabama (or even Georgia), so he must suck. You clearly realize the limitations and tough odds against knocking off a school that has overwhelming advantages over another school without calling the HC of said school a failure. I agree that Riley is an excellent coach and belongs to an excellent program, but the schools he would have to beat are still in a league above him. He might do it, and I think he’s capable to do it, but he doesn’t have a legitimate shot every year.
What kind of expectations should Oklahoma State have? Just make a bowl? Should we be more competitive against OU than say half of the conference? Should we compete for a conference championship at least as often as half of the conference?
