Your No. 2 are the ones that baffle me. Kids that aren’t what they think they are. You ever notice how many that go to the portal never find a place ? Disappointing that McKinney hit the portal when he started several games and played in all 14 Can’t figure a kid out there unless he’s already been offered before he announced. I’m curious where he lands. I’ll say Sonny ……
Heard stats today. Only 28 % of players increase their stats at the new school
Harper did. But. When you compare missing games he didnt. Mohammed didnt. Converse didnt. Sanders cobb no. Ben went to tulsa and had a great year. Still a g5.
Alan and cooper did better. Leon did since he only played in 7 games. The other would have if he didnt get hurt.
Agreed. I do think that fans tend to look at stats or how many W’s their new team has to determine whether the move was a success or not. That’s not the only way to judge it.
I don’t look at the wins , I look at if he improved his playing status and made his worth more. I just read , don’t positively know, but Harper supposedly got 200k to go to ND. Late in season he had 22 tackles. That’s a large amount for the production. I would probably have taken it
Let me ask you a question. You grew up in Tennessee. Have zero ties to Oklahoma. If you had the opportunity to play at Oklahoma St or Notre Dame. Which are you picking?
His brother played at osu. So their was a tie.
What i find funny is he got burnt 3 times in the bowl game with notter lame.
He’s not much closer to home at ND than Stillwater. He wasn’t a true 1 guy either. He made some plays. His brother never bloomed some till his fifth year. I don’t see them giving him 200k though
That’s the thing that pisses me off too is we take him and he develops on our money then jumps at his first shot
I’m aware of the distance from Tennessee-Stillwater. I don’t think you’re aware of possibly the difference in playing for Notre Dame as opposed to Oklahoma St. OSU is a very good program. Stillwater is a cool place. But, for most people, Notre Dame would be considered a much better opportunity. Notre Dame is a national brand that comes with a lot more NIL opportunities than OSU does. It’s also one of the most coveted degrees you’ll come across. If you can’t see that there are reasons for a kid to choose Notre Dame over Oklahoma St…….then I respectfully say you have your head buried in the brightest of orange sand
This stinks. I know we have a few talented corners coming back like the 3 Smith’s (Kale Cam and Dylan) but this kid looked to have amazing potential and had 38 tackles with 5 PBU’s anyway. Bummed to lose him. Kinda confused too as other’s have stated, K Black is a senior and DJ played a lot, he’s a surefire starter. This portal sucks. Well, only when it hurts Oklahoma State lol
Ketchup my head is always buried in orange but not so much I can’t see the disadvantages between OSU or some BB. I also see a kid isn’t even considered as a HS graduate. My loyalty would be to the school that gave me the advantage to develop myself. That’s just me. I’m loyal to people that are good to me. I’m probably in the minority too.
As far as degrees it depends on what degree they get. Physical education. ? Hell kids are getting out of college and can’t find jobs for worthless degrees
Loyalty is a great quality to have……except in the sports realm. Loyalty to a player or a program too long……usually ends in failure somehow.
You’re a fan. That’s ok. But Notre Dame is a pretty big deal, regardless of what their W-L record may be.
Good convo
