McDonald visited could be the second OSU commit to flip to Texas this cycle.
And the second Jelani to do nothing in a Cowboy uniform.
Disappointing
I thought we made it thru. His visit was 10 days ago.
This is to late he decommit not just open his recruitment
A&m should be unloading some 5 stars we could pick up. There freshmen too
Texas is going to lose more games … and soon. Any luster that started to show will be long gone by December, although I understand recruits can be bought.
Wonder if NIL money has anything to do with this
When your choices are hard work or undeserved accolades.
How do you sit and watch what happened in BPS on Saturday and the decide to decommit for the team that repeatedly shiits their pants and can’t win more than 8 games a year?
OSU is still his “#1 school”.
BS!
He’s as good as gone.
This NIL money is changing college athletics and not for the good.
Money talks, recruits walk.
It seems so obvious.
I think we lost McAllister to big money at Ohio State. He got 3 interceptions for them on Sat.
At least Ohio state wins unlike Texass
Does Texas have to go 2-10 for five years in a row before recruits start believing they can’t compete for anything? The NIL has to be playing a large part in this.
Based on some of the reports about them coming out of College Station I’m not exactly sure if that would be a wise decision. Then again I can’t say it’s all of them. I think we would be better off going aggressively after the talented G5 players that enter the portal. Also, we have to hope we can keep some of our starters or rotation players from leaving as well.
How long before Jimbo is shoveled off into the sunset ? They are 4-4 , had the number one class last year and close the year before. Jimbo’s buy out is only 89 million some rich Aggie will buy him out. He’s just coasting right now waiting for the axe to fall
Wow 89 million. TAMU may be officially a dumpster fire.
Wins best football of a basketball conference
I gue$$ he want$ to take $ome ar$e whupping$ too like Billy Warren.
I’m fascinated by the whole recruiting stars thing. How do some schools rank in the top 10-20 of “stars recruits”, sometimes year after year, but then end up with troubled teams? When I think back to my working days (not in sports), we paid a lot of attention to “fit” in our hiring process. Virtually every business enterprise requires the ability to work well in teams. So we looked for evidence of team behaviors as well as talented experience, and the alignment with our culture (which was pretty darn good at getting business results and engaging staff). There are a lot of talented people with huge personality problems. We did our best not to hire personality problems.
No reason a football team should be any different. Stars ratings are not a measure of the whole person.
