OSU Commit Jelani McDonald Reopens Recruitment after Visit to Texas

My brother’s former coworker is the uncle of former 5-star CB Chris Steele who first went to Florida, got in the portal after his freshman year (his roomie was one of those guys who got into big trouble (sexual assault allegations) and decided to transfer to Oregon. Changed his mind and ended up at USC. Never understood, having watched a number of USC games to see what his skillset was like, how he was ever a 5. At best the kid was a 3. I bet there’s been plenty of 2s who were better than him. He went undrafted, signed w/ the Steelers but now on Dolphins’ practice squad. If he ever makes an NFL roster I’ll be shocked!

Isn’t it the middle one, not the youngest, who’s a problem child as well? He didn’t wrestle his senior year (last year) at Stilly High for some odd reason. The youngest, Angelo, upset one of our signees, Jordan Williams, in the state finals last season.

It happens, I was talking WHEN they get to uni. Or have you not noticed how bad some have been. You should have seen plenty whenever we played UT, but even zerOU had some overrated 5 stars. But it’s long been Austin where 4s and 5s go to become 2s and 3s.

@travis5266 Why are you bringing up b.ball players? I think football is where we see more highly rated guys blowing it!

I agree football does have more guys blow it as 5 stars. Also, football has 85 guys, hoops has 15 or so. Football is much more likely to have more guys blow it. I just needed to play devils advocate. Cade was the easiest example.

Herschel Sims is a great example of what you’re talking about though, @teatown

The Boomer kid we had 3 years or so ago was supposed to be all that, left before the second game I think. When to Tulsa but never heard from him again

Ask booby miles

Had a good season, got us to the second round, and looks to be a serviceable pro guy. I guess if we were doing resumes it sounds pretty close to Rudolph at this point

Serviceable?! Rudolph isn’t in Cade’s stratosphere.

So he’s an all star that would start for any team in the league right now? Doubtful

Cade has had the better pro career so far. By a country mile.

I think the dude has a lot of potential and could be the best player in the league one day, but he has a ways to go still.

And he still has that potential I agree. I think your statement is fair and accurate. I’m simply saying Rudolph will never get there. So comparing the two is strange.

Because if you compare resumes there isn’t a whole lot of difference to this point just my opinion

Some of the 3 stars get their butts kicked every play for four years straight but we just call them offensive lineman.

Just that one is a starter and one is 3rd string.

Yes it’s the middle one that signed with us I think, then was kicked out of the house by his parents ( bad time to be holding court) and didn’t wrestle. I’ve heard lots of the same on him as AJ

You’re what we call a troll bucky, who spends as much time on a blog as you and your daughter but to nominal response except Robert and I ? We just like playing with the trolls :cowboy_hat_face:

I disagree. If T. Boone were still alive we would be buying our way to a conference title and CFP right now.

Maybe , but you have to be selective of who you “buy” … it hasn’t helped ATM or Texas much Give me the 3 star kid with no ceiling and loves working and getting better than an entitled kid. Course there are exceptions on 4-5 star kids
I think Boone would do it the right way
