No spring game this year, but here is a look at the schedule for Orange Power Weekend.

No spring game is bogus. If they had planned this, they should’ve announced weeks ago. Something stinks here. And a whopping 30 mins? Seriously? 1:30 - 2 p.m. “meet and greet”? Sounds like “Caddy Day” at the swimming pool in Caddyshack.
As I recall, no spring game last year either – not enough offensive linemen.

How many years are we gonna have an excuse for no spring game? This is yet another reason why Oklahoma State refuses to truly take football seriously enough to win championships and competing with the bluebloods.

That’s actually a tremendous idea! Pioneer Stadium is an awesome facility. It could easily hold the amount of people that would show up.

Yea construction is the reason because if the real reason was revealed , not enough OL again, everyone would lose their minds.

This is a bad look. Missed opportunity recruiting wise. Missed opportunity for the new DC. Missed opportunity for the new faces. Missed opportunity for fans. Missed opportunity PR wise.
Ive said it & said it…….Gundy is at a crossroads in his career at OSU. This upcoming season is a MASSIVE one for him & his program

Why must every thing start at the same time? What about the fans that have tix to both softball and baseball? This is not fan friendly.
Gundy doesn’t care about the fans. He’s said it explicitly numerous times in pressers.

I don’t think Gundy is at a crossroads, and I would bet Gundy could have 5 losing seasons and not be in trouble. He’s won the conference one time in 19 seasons. These fans just don’t care. As long as they can go to the games and tailgate, they could care less.

I don’t agree with that. I know you’re throwing some sarcasm in the post, but there is a faction of fans that absolutely care. The pulse of the people I talk to has changed about Gundy & you hear much more criticism of him than you have from in the past.
Also, gonna correct you here. The saying is “I COULDNT care less”.

If this dude cared one iota about fans, he would go on the biggest sports talk radio show in Oklahoma and talk osu football and represent while selling his program to kids across this state which he has always refused to do. Gundy sucks as a person plain in simple. Osu will be better off when he leaves.

You are 100% correct on the couldn’t care less. I was trying to type faster than thinking.
But it is very small. If it was bigger, I don’t think we would be waiting more than 12 years to win the conference for the second time or only one conference championship game in the seven years since it was reinstated. Make’em bowl eligible and they are as content as OU winning the conference and making it to the playoffs.

The way I figure is this: no coach REALLY wants to have a spring game. Too much risk to showcase what you probably already know.
The reason you have the game is to MARKET your team, yourself, your program…to the masses. If you are worried about what the perception would be, well, all the more reason to not have the game.
We have more OL available (20+) for spring this year than we’ve had in the last 3 yrs. I know a lot of folks will point the finger at the OL but that is actually not the case this year. Must be something else.

Yea not saying that I know that lack of OL is the real reason but I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be true even if we are supposed to be 20+ on OL this year.
The only issue I have is missing out on a recruiting opportunity. Granted with the way Gundy recruits it probably doesn’t make much of a difference. I personally think the spring game in its current form in pretty boring but to each their own I guess. The extremely short meet and greet is pretty stupid though. Let fans get some time with the guys.

@bruce4 to be honest i dont think gundy cares about spring game. Its just a chance for injuries.
With a defense and new wrinkles in the offense it would be show our hand. Alot of new guys getting up to speed.
