There’s a difference in being an OC at a big program and a HC at a big program. You’re just using one example too. Saban has several coaches who’ve went on to be successful.
For example, Jimbo Fisher won a national title and is one of the highest paid coaches in College Football. While the closest Gundy can get to a national title is if he’s helping call the game from the booth.
That’s the difference between Pat Jones and Nick Saban. One teaches you how to get to bowl games while the other helps teach you how to win championships.

As far as wins goes I’d like to see how they have the roster set in August before making any predictions. Also, I thought Derek Mason was a good hire. I don’t expect the defense to be as good as last season, but I don’t think we’re going to be forced into having to trade scores with other teams (depending on what the offense looks like).
Why won’t the defense be good.
So you are scared to predict wins. Be like a normal person and just say as we see the team to be.
I’m not scared to predict wins. I just don’t think you should predict wins 5 months before the season starts. There could be significant events happen before the season. Injuries, transfers, and lineup changes.

Predicting 10 wins from a team with a new DC and 12 guys that hit the portal is pretty bold. I’m not ready to say the OL is fixed until I watch them actually run and pass block like they should consistently. You’ll get my total win prediction when August 15th rolls around.
