I’ll say two teams go 8-1 or better. You say none. You feel like making this interesting? We can put the o/u of 8 win teams at 1. I’ll take the over. You said none……so I’m giving you some wiggle room to stumble into a push here.
The loser has to teach the poster with the green R & an I.Q. of 28 how to spell. If Dexter Manley could do it……so can he. @bill18 Do we have a bet?
I just went through the Conf schedule & marked W-L as I went. I probably would’ve had the Cowboys closer to .500 off the top of my head, but that’s what shook out. Obviously I’m on the outside looking in at Gundy, but I’ve heard more anti-Gundy sentiment the last year or so than I ever have. I’ve said it many times before, this is the same crossroads that Bob Stoops was at when Mayfield fell into his lap. Mike has this year to make chicken salad or else his supporters are gonna start being fewer by the L.
We agree then (we usually do). Haha! If this season goes poorly, folks will realize 2021 was Gundy’s last gasp attempt at ever winning a conference title. For the record, I truly believe Gundy’s time has come and gone. Hopefully, he burned through his grace period with the fan base last year. I know my parents came very close to not renewing their season tickets for the first time in 30+ years.
Mark my words. No team is getting through the conference with less than 2 losses. I think DG is a good QB, but he’s not Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jaylen Hurts, or Caleb Williams. Also, based on some of the reports I hear OU is somewhat struggling at the OL position. Listen….I think OU will probably be a very good team this season, but I don’t see them as being a great team this season. I think they’ll be a lot like the 2020 OU football team. Yes I’ll take that bet.
They did it in 2018. Beating the better teams and losing to 5-7 teams like K State and Texas Tech. Everyone was still just excited to get to the Independence Bowl. AR is right. It’ll never be anymore that what it is.
Ou has an easy schedule just looking at it. Here are some that will be serious hames.
Texas
At Lawrence
At stillwater
At provo
Even split just these 4 that 2 loses.
We have a similar schedule. The 2 hardess hames for us are at home against i feel over rated teams. Both team lots of players. Ou have high ranked guys coming in. But just alot to fill in from a bad team. Ksu had 3 true play makers and alot of other good players. A couple of there replacements are nice but have fought injuries. As long as a very old line stay health the offense will be good. Defense will be like 2020 good not that great
Well…it’s no exactly what you feel, but what you know. Home field advantage in the Gundy era doesn’t necessarily mean much when it comes to Bedlam. K State nobody can ever predict. They did come into Stillwater in 2017 and got off to a 42-14 start against us. Hope and reality are two very different things. I’m glad you have hope, but I think it would help benefit you in the long run if you made a commitment to reality.
Gundy has won 2 thirds of his games. We know he has won more home games. So if uo, and ksu is over rated then im right.
Your logic is the thing to be questioned. I can point out actual facts about those teams.
Really? You think our defense will be closer to 2020. Let me remind you that defense was 34th overall in the nation that year. I highly doubt a D2 DC in his first season at the D1 level is going to be that good. As one other person has mentioned in another forum, let’s take a look for a moment:
We lost a DE and Safety to the NFL. We also probably lost the best LB we had to USC.
The depth we had last season defensively was not very good. What on earth makes you think those guys are going to burn up the field this season?
As you’ve pointed out in the past, Jim Knowles first year at OSU his defense was 97th. What makes you think a D2 DC is going to have a defense better, or just as good as a veteran DC like Knowles (who’s at Ohio State btw)? It took Knowles three years to get a top 40 defense?
Derek Mason was a veteran DC that spent 30 years in college football and had a history of being a good DC. Our defense finished 116th overall last season. What makes you think Nardo is going to surpass this with the little talent we had last season that’s not going to be here?
While I think Collin Oliver and Kendal Daniels are going to be good players this season, they aren’t going to be able to stop the entire opposing offense by themselves.
Trace Ford would’ve been a great asset (if he stays healthy), but now he’s going to the rival school. Essentially, another proven talented player long gone.
The 3-3-5 defense is vulnerable to different things. It’s not a rock solid defensive formation. If we run into a team that’s run heavy with a good offensive line they’ll just ram the ball down our throat on the edges or dink and dunk us to death all game long.
Looks like you have a large misconception and misunderstanding of the word logic.
Lol poor bill first off. You posted this in response to a post i said about ksu defense. Lol talk about ess backwards.
You and your rankings. Their are lots of things that change rankings. 200 yards one year can be 10 or 20 spots different. 2018 we had a very young defense with a bad coach. A bad offense can hurt your defense a good offense can hurt your defense. Throwing 4 pucs inside the 40 hurts the defense.
Last year we were 89th in scoring d and tcu was 90th.
Lol again your logic going crazy
Then why’s he at Ohio State? And why did Ohio State improve by 27 spots in their defensive rankings last season? If you’re going to say something try to make it make sense. Looks like you still need to look up the definition of logic.
Last year we were 7-6 and TCU played for a national title. Quite a difference if you ask me.
Thats billy deflect if you cant make sense out of facts. Your talking ranking till they dnt make your point.
We have a lot of question marks. Is hale going to come in and kick like he did prior to his injury. Do we have a long snapper.
I have been up and down on sanders as anyone. If bowman can stay healthy i feel he will do more then sanders every did.
On defense we will be starting alot of seniors. Every starter will be in their 3rd year except a 23 year old Kirkland. Thats older then 2021. Can remember wish site it was but the guy said we would be a top 20 defense. 1 reason was the schedule.
