“Gundy pointed to Nebraska as a reason why getting away from the Lone Star state and its seemingly endless supply of talent might not be the smartest ideal. Nebraska was a dominant team in the Big 12, finishing with a 0.716 winning percentage in 15 seasons in the conference. The Cornhuskers then moved to the Big Ten and have had a .552 winning percentage two games into their 11th season.”
Me and Mike Gundy. According to @robert28 we’re just a couple idiots who don’t understand recruiting.
I would not say that out loud because Joey will definitely agree with.
I.will agree with too.
Ur another sound bit guy. I’m sure if we were not involved with any Texas teams mite cost a recruit. It will not stop all Texas recruits. Us still with Texas school keeps that link. So.nothing to see here. Idiot.
Nebraska losing like crazy hurt Nebraska the most.
Top school have no problem going in to Texas and out recruiting Texas, a&m and ou.
I could see the division going in an East/West format:
East: Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, UCF, West Virginia
West: Baylor, BYU, Houston, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech
By doing this, both divisions are in two time zones as opposed to having a north stretched to three.
We’ll fine out soon enough.
I watched more American conference football last year than I did any other conference besides the Big 12. Cincy went undefeated, Tulsa had the best defensive player in the country, and the games were actually exciting, unlike SEC games where almost nothing happens. Obviously I hope we dominate the new conference but at the very least I hope we see some good football.
It’s because Iowa and Iowa State are better programs right now. We better be careful too. Because if Kansas State gets better and TCU does we’ll have a rough time recruiting in both those states.
Group B winning 70% of the matchups is a percentage pulled completely outta your butt. There’s no way to come to an actual, legitimate answer to who would win more. So the only thing you can do is guesstimate based on how those programs have done historically. And in doing that, Oregon, USC, Stanford & add in Washington are far better historically. They’re far more likely to play for a Nat title. They’re far more likely to play in a big time matchup. You also have to factor in Notre Dame annually playing USC. Stanford too. Those are bigger games than anything the new Big 12 will put together. Go find me the best matchup imaginable in the new Big 12. OSU-???
“Equal in TV network attractiveness” The PAC 12 currently has 4 of the top 28 most watched programs (16 USC, 25 Stanford, 26 Oregon 28 Wash). The Big 8+4 has 2 (19 OSU 24 TCU). Those are fairly similar, I’d agree. But what happens when you take OU & Texas off those two schedules? They drop. They’ll continue to drop.
That makes the most geographical sense, as long as Iowa State keeps winning it’d be pretty even if they fall off west would be quite a bit stronger but I like it. Most cost efficient travel.
I’m not a brainiac like u believe to be. So I want to see how this Texas recruitment use to work. I did do one year, 1986. So Nebraska had 4 kids from Texas. More kids from California. 52 from Nebraska.
So yes I see were the lack of Texas players hurt them.
Everyone has been saying if osu goes to the pac they will lose Texas. In 1986 osu had 27 Texas kids. I just picked a couple u my have heard of Thurman and dykes. Thats big 8 days, no Texas schools. The only numbers that would change is the instate Nebraska kids. They may have 10 or 12.
If we go to another conference the Texas door will not be closed.
The Texas door won’t close, but in my opinion, it’s going to be the same now as it will be in the future for Oklahoma State football if not worse.
We already recruit behind OU, Texas, Texas A&M, and in some instances behind Baylor and TCU. Now you bring Houston into the mix. A program that’s 2-1 against Mike Gundy.
Cincinnati who’s been recently doing well is now going to be able to put their hat into the ring for Texas recruits. So it could go either way. Based on recent Gundy recruiting results I think its safe to assume recruiting for OSU stays the same or gets worse.
First why r u talking to me. No nothing has change we are still getting Texas guys and Nebraska not.
I guys I will side with Joey. Joey says gundy doesn’t know anything about recruiting.
Either way we will still get Texas recruits.
Ur going on and on about usc. They can bearly get more people to watch then we can.
Really who is watching the noter dame game. Usc fans or noter dame fans.
We got a couple of players committed that had usc offers. I know at least one went for a visit.
If any one has drawing power its Oregon.
ND is a major, major player in college football arguably the most visible helmet/brand/school in the game. It’s the 4th most watched program as we speak. So to answer the question of “who is watching the ND game?”………EVERYBODY.
Oregon is a nationwide brand too. OSU is not. Let’s see what kind of TV ratings/deals the Big 12 gets. It will be peanuts
