Report: BYU, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston Have Applied for Big 12 Membership

Yeah I’m sure the networks and viewers will be clamoring to jump on that BYU (who’s #48) & Houston (who’s #52) barnburner. Or adding #60 UCF & #66 Cincinnati. The remaining 8 teams will drop without the OU/Texas games. You just don’t get it Chief. You argue all you want, but the numbers are what they are. People haven’t tuned in to those teams and they’re not going to now either. It’s just fact. You have dumped on the USC-ND matchup……which is 20 x’s more attractive to networks and viewers than anything the new Big 12 can put together. You say “Oregon is a draw”. Well you know who draws more……USC. Yet you aren’t smart enough to get that either. You somehow think because OSU got a few recruits or that OSU could win a head to head that it somehow diminishes the overall perception and value of the program……but it doesn’t. You’ll argue it because that’s your thing. But it’s just fact

Usc only draws because they play better draws.
In 20 years the pac 12 will not have football as we know it. It’ll be coed and a Tran pan league
Usc is considered a top 10 blue blood in a state with more population then all the big 12. Usc is a joke. With u defending them makes it funnier.

So……who does USC play that is better draws? The biggest Non-Con is ND. So the other games against better draws are who in your mind? Just curious who you think in the PAC or their schedule is all of a sudden these big draws? You’ve dumped on everybody in that Conf other than Oregon. So……how then are they helping USC draw viewers? If USC in your mind isn’t good. And neither are the teams in that Conf……then how the hell are they getting people to watch? And if USC is a draw because of who they play……then isn’t that going to effect the Big 12 when they’re playing Cincinnati, BYU, Houston, and so on?

Less and less people are watching usc football. 44 million people are in California and ur impressed by usc’s tv numbers

I bet in 1950 more people watched usc then they do know.

Those were two moronic, no substance responses. I’ve destroyed you in yet another discussion. So I must go now.

Assuming OU/TX are gone…Here is what the 2023 OSU football schedule will look like. Not an exact replica, but very, very close.

Central Arkansas
@Ariz. St.
South Alabama
@Iowa St
Baylor
Kansas
KState
@Cincinnati
@TCU
BYU
@Tech
West Virginia

Honestly here. You think that looks attractive to anyone? You think the TV networks will be lining up to get that slate? You think your season ticket holders will be juiced up about that schedule?

From what I have heard from sec comm, they are plan on 2025. I think that money issue is more then ou and Texas can handle.

The asu would be a good one. Byu, tcu cincy. It’s like any other conf. As the year plays out thats where the big tv games are.

“The ASU would be a good one”. That will be week 2. It will be a GOOD game that week. There are better odds that neither are in the top 25 than both are. That doesnt tip the scale much.

Georgia was in the headliner game week 1. Ohio St-Michigan this past weekend. Florida-Bama this week. Auburn-Penn St next week. OU-Nebraska. Go pick any matchup you can find between the new Big 8+4 and tell me that even comes close to something youll see in those other Conf’s

U real good at picking out top blue bloods.
Isu game last year was a good tv game. Why because of where the two of us were in the conf. Thats what will drive r games in the in conf. R numbers will not compete with big ten. I never said they would.
If this league is competitive, then are numbers will increase. Ex ou vs ku and osu vs ku. Osu game had twice the viewership. Why it would be thought to be a better game

Youre right. The 2020 version of OSU-Iowa St drew a 1.6 rating. It was the 5th highest rated game that week.

#1: Clemson-ND 5.5
#2: Bama-Florida 4.9
#3: Ohio St-NW 4.6
#4: Oregon-USC 2.25

That OSU-Iowa St game…WAS THE 59TH HIGHEST WATCHED GAME OF THE YEAR!! You think thats worth anything!!! You dump on Nebraska…the Ohio St game was a 3.4!! Thats almost double. You dump on ND. They played Boston College and drew a 3.0. The Clemson Reg season game was a 5.4…3 X’s MORE THAN THE IOWA ST-OSU game. Clemson-ND Rd 2 was a 5.5. Duke-ND was better (2.4) DUKE. ND-UNC was a 3.5. Syracuse-ND was a 1.7

The blue-bloods/name brands/teams like that are getting the Iowa St-OSU type almost every week. OSU’s next highest game was a 1.3 against Tech. Heres a a comparison …the USC-UCLA (1.7) game was a bettter draw !!!

Wow u really are lost.
I never said anything about nd. That is a lie. Actually complete opposite. I was downing usc.
U bringing up the usc vs ucla just proves my point. If that was a real must see tv it should have been a 5. Not bearly beat osu tech out.

So hang on…the game YOU BROUGHT up from last year for OSU was the Iowa St game. That was your big seller to the networks. That was your “must see TV” game. IT DREW WORSE THAN USC-UCLA

No because we may not play them every year or both won’t be highly ranked.

The point that you’re not getting. You’ve dumped on USC saying numbers are down and they’re losing and everything else. You mentioned OSU-Iowa St as being good. #18 USC V unranked UCLA Drew BETTER than #20 OSU V #10 Iowa St. Why? USC is a brand name. Hell UCLA is for that matter too. You say “who outside of California is watching USC?” Who the hell do you think outside of Iowa or OSU is gonna watch when it’s this new Conf?

U still putting words in my mouth. I never asked who outside California was watching usc. I was asking why in state that have over 44 million people can’t get more then 2 million tv to watch a rivalry game between usc and ucla. I’m not sure if u are using ratings or tv. It doesn’t matter.
U bring the usc ucla up, just proves my point.
I dnt care which of the 4 instate schools are playing each other. In a state that big someone should want to watch them and even more if it’s usc.
Usc should be bring numbers not waiting for games like nd, Oregon and a rivalry game for someone to watch them.

My question is, in 2025 when OU is finishing 4th in the sec and OSU is finishing 4th in the big 12 and both have no chance to make the playoffs, which conference championship game will people in Oklahoma watch.

:joy::joy:. I like it.

Yeah you’re still clueless. You dumped on USC and boasted on the OSU-Iowa St matchup to bring in ratings. It’s not happening.
