Good idea. Let him bury the program further in the ground. WTF, the man is not second coming and hasnât given a sh_t for years. Let him go be a rancher which is what he wants to do rather than embarrass a program that he has improperly profited off for so many years. Do you really want to listen to another post-game conference where he explains how he is wasting $7.5M by being out coached from week-to-week?

Well everyone got their wish. Iâm not looking forward to the rest of the year. Meacham is the interim HC. Weiberg is getting a new 4 year deal with a raise. 2 recruits have already decomitted. More to come? Great things ahead for OSU??? The jury is out. We can spend the next 2+ months speculating who the new HC will be. Hess and the BOR got their way. The writing has been on the wall for the last few years. It was time for Gundy to be gone, I donât like the timing. Iâll wait and see.
I just wanted to say AR, Jeff, and myself have been right the entire time. Told you he would be going out like Gary Patterson (kind of). Told you hiring old coaches wasnât the answer. Told you he wasnât going to win the conference. Told you donors wonât waste money on a guy that canât win a watered down conference returning 19 starters. If anything, he only proved he was becoming the exact opposite.
Told you donors donât invest money into a failed product over a certain amount of time. They got to see it during the Boone Pickens donation. You donât give money and resources to someone who will consistently prove he doesnât know how to market with it.
For those of you saying âshouldâve waited until the end of the season!!â. Why? Tell me what good thatâs going to do after 1-11? If anything, itâs just going to waste time. You start a search now and see what younger coaches around the country are proving themselves. You get the paperwork, finances, and decision making process in place NOW. The longer you wait leads to procrastination in which you may end up just being in the same position you are now. It makes absolutely no sense to sit in your hands and wait.

The year was over before it began. There are some good teams in the Big 12, OSU is just not one of them and hasnât been for a while.

Virginia Tech hasnt done much without Beamer, I agree. But what has OSU done that makes it BETTER? Va Tech is in a similar Conf. But VaTech has a much better shot at getting in the recruiting door out there than OSU does getting in the door in the state of Texas. Theyre similar NIL wise. Im not saying VaTech is MUCH better than OSU job-wise, but it is better.
UCLA is a better job. They are definitely playing the NIL game. They have a far better recruiting base and are far higher on the totem pole than OSU. Plus, they are in a MUCH better Conf. OSU is about the 15th best option in Texas to a recruit, while UCLA in the state of California is pretty popular.
YetâŚyou managed to fire Mike Gundy. If you have the people in place that can fire the best coach in the history of your programâŚI believe they have the power to kick the tires on finding a replacement in 3 months.
This is going to get pretty bad. The portal will be open for 30 days, plus you have the 4 game window for redshirting.

I thought of that as well. I wonder how many players will maybe play this weekend and then decide itâs better to redshirt and transfer.
I disagree, I think Va Tech is an equal program to OSU.
The only edge UCLA has is its conference membership. When the recent realignment happened, I said UCLA will be a big loser in the win loss column. We shall see.
