The strange thing is the firing of Dunn and Nardo, followed by this afterward. Did he fire them of his own volition to try to head off this day? Did they force him to fire them and then come down on him? Why? Seems convoluted.
Good luck on that one. I’m sure his lawyers would love that juicy case
The perfect Christmas gift for those of us that want to win championships!!
It will never get to the point of having to prove it. It just has to be enough of a fact question that going to trial is a risk for both parties. Thats why most cases settle before trial. That rant gave them enough to push it to this point. My guess is they will negotiate it and he will be gone.
He’s gone from what I’ve heard
If it get’s settled out of court then it will be in Gundy’s favor. There is no way Gundy isn’t going to take OSU to the woodshed if they refuse to pay him his money.
Well……I would think Zac is going to be #1 on that list. He’s only 38 and he’s almost ready to be an NFL HC. IF he does take the job at OSU, then I would have to think Weiberg and Shrum are going to need to make it worth his time here. Zac is a smart dude.
I think he’s only willing to talk if there’s something in the works where OSU has the potential to be a conference and CFP contender. I honestly don’t think he has any desire to deal with the mess in this current CF environment. I’m thinking they’ll bring in an ALMOST entire new staff. Perhaps a lot of the UNLV coaches maybe .
The school has more money than you think they actually do.
So is this the end of the MG era ?
I guess we will see. You are a lot more confident than most lawyers in these positions.
No decent recruit is going to play for a coaching staff that’s proven they can go 0-9 in their conference . Having just the players make the calls might end up being a better situation.
Respectfully, Mike Gundy, in perhaps the most important and pivotal year for OSU football, made us irrelevant.
This tells me you need to pay more attention to what’s actually going on in college football, and outside of Stillwater in general. Here’s one thing I do know. Dillingham has only been at ASU for three years, and Campbell has been at ISU since 2016. One of those two will be walking away this weekend with just as many conference titles as Mike Gundy has since 2005. Let’s not forget our buddy up north in Manhattan that’s only been there since 2019 and already has one himself.
Hey champ,
We might find out.
I’m sure we can find a coach that’ll win us one conference title every twenty years if we try hard enough. After all, isn’t that more than your current standards?
My dream list would be:
Zac at HC (if he wants to come back to cfb)
UNLV OC
Rice DC
See if we can get Dez to be wr coach/master recruiter
Sorry…but you have to be kiddin’ right? Have you read the contract? ‘For cause’ firing with zero buyout would be so easy to prove that Gundy would roll over like a cheap blacket! Financial harm? Administration would have so many boosters step up to testify for loss of donor support it not even funny. Gundy’s own words played back would prove he brought disrepute to university etc.
They are takin’ away his keys to what he all along felt and acted like his personal kingdom!
Cale and Mike Gundy have always presented themselves publicly as the smartest people in the room …it’s finally caught up to them!
I think if Gundy is fired, there will be a lot of interest from around the country to coach in Stillwater. The facilities are amazing. There is a loyal fan base. No bluebloods to play every year. There is money to pay a coaching staff.
The flaws are:
Where do we compare with other schools regarding NIL?
Where will OSU be in their capacity to pay players directly next year?
I don’t think proving Gundy damaged the school would be as easy as you suggest.
