Keeping mediocre! No desire to actually win the conference. OSU deserves what they get. Never winning the conference and never make the playoffs.
Striving for excellence and OSU have nothing in common.

How long until the details are made public? Hopefully the coordinator hires are homeruns that will set us up for future success. Gundy’s perceived apathy is an issue but there may be more to that than us peons are aware of.

What’s acceptable now to keep his job next season? Bowl games are meaningless now. A lot of us especially people my age “38” are ready for bigger and better things. We like consistency not mediocrity. We aren’t of the mentality of “just beat OU”, cause there isn’t a bedlam anymore. Zero excuses to not go 10-2 more frequently anymore, no excuse to not be #1 or #2 in the conference no more.

This just seems like they’re kicking the can down the road. It’s obvious they have little faith in his ability to pick assistant coaches, so why trust him with the rest? His arrogance demonstrates he’s not going to make any changes to the way he does things.

Probably the best solution for the team. Heading into the portal opening Monday with no HC, DC, & OC would be an absolute disaster!

Gundy should have terminated Dunn & Nardo weeks ago…

Gundy is totally responsible for the entire football program mess…, if we have another year of incompetence like this year, he should be terminated mid-season…

He is an egomaniac a_s, and has no business representing OK State; hopefully we can recover and move on from Dumby as soon as possible!!!

If this means the Board of Regents has to approve Coordinator hires, this is ridiculous! What do they know about who are the best Coordinator hires? What’s next, will Gundy have to call the BoR before he can go for it on 4th down?

Gundy doesn’t go for it on 4th down.

Hopefully that is not the case. It surely would be asinine

I’m sure they just don’t want another Nardo experiment or someone less qualified. Like giving the keys of a Lamborghini to someone who’s barely been driving. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist, avid football fan, or heck even someone who has played to understand the pain of watching our watching our offense struggle the last few years understand along with the defense struggle to stop anyone.

Hopefully this a humbling experience for Gundy. Ridiculous 24th nationally in NIL and 12 in big12. This should speak major volumes. I don’t care much for NIL but as a fan I’m going to have to adapt and as a coach he should too. You can still keep some culture but your going adjust to the new era. I like millions of other fans now see bowl games as meaningless. Future is brand building and making that logo more valuable apparently just ask the playoff committee. He’s going to have to do his part to make this logo more valuable than what it is. Boise State has been doing it for years and it’s finally paying off. No way other big12 teams should accomplish more than Gundy did in 20 years in less time.

OSU went for 4th down 26 times this season, which would be 7th in the B12 regarding attempts.

I think the BOR doesn’t want to have to pay assistants 7 figures that are not qualified. As well, don’t the assistants get 3 year contracts? Are there buyout clauses for them as well? Remember these are state employees.

Gundy hired a DII DC that took the defense to dead last in all of FBS in just two years and you’re worried about a board having to approve a hire? Maybe some oversight isn’t a bad thing here.

Time to go hit a homes with with the OC and DC hires, then let them bring whatever position coaches they want with then. After that go big in the portal with the NIL $ they just saved. GO POKES AND GO GUNDY! :cowboy_hat_face:

I seriously doubt Gundy has been humbled much, I guess we will see

We don’t need to worry about that. We know Gundy doesn’t have enough ba!!z to go for it on fourth down.

Doesn’t matter who we hire for coordinators. We still have the same offensive and defensive coordinator we had this year. If you think Mike Gundy wasn’t making the decisions on offense and defense, then you’re crazy. He brought in a guy to run a 3-3-5 that we never ran. That was Mike’s decision. He made all the decisions on offense too. I’m not saying it wasn’t time for those guys to go, but we still have the same offense and defensive coordinator.

I read somewhere that Gundy had something up his sleeve to help counteract the PR disaster of the last 24 hours. Any insights on what that could be?
