SEC to eventually total 16 teams. The natural logic is to create a 16 team conference to at least match in numbers. Now whether it is equivalent to the SEC in markets can really only be assessed in the future as “The Big 16” product is developed and ultimately promoted through matchups and new rivalries. Without much fluff here are the additions from the available pool in no particular order: Utah State, BYU, Memphis. UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, USF and SMU. In creating the new Big 16 also entails new and better management. This must involve people whom are fierce competitors, can promote with “outside-the-box” thinking, have proven networking connections and have a history of success. We need and want the best-of-the best, now is not the time for jump-starting careers. The Big 16 is only looking for proven and driven leadership, nothing more and nothing less. Now let’s go build a LEGACY!
