I seen that. We’re in the bottom half of the conference but improving.
Arizona state only played 4 games last year and they were super spread out, but they finished 3rd in the Pac12 in 2019 and had a top 25 recruiting class, they aren’t a Terrible pull for a H&H. Then we have Boise on the road who is always ranked and a H&H with Oregon all in the next 5 years. Not far off from OU. They’ve got Georgia coming up who’s a great pull, but other than that Michigan is really it the next 5 years, and they went 2-4 last year. Tennessee has had 1 winning season in the last 4 years.
That being said, I think our SOS for this upcoming season is mostly tougher than OU’s because of the conference slate, not OOC. Texas, ISU, Tech, WVU all on the road with OU at home. OU’s only hard road game is us really, the rest are B12 bottom feeders. It’s all hit or miss by year.
I think Arizona State is night and day better than Oregon State and Pittsburgh. In 2015 we played Central Michigan, Central Arkansas (non- major) and UTSA. Now come on, Kansas needs to play a tougher non-conference schedule than that. We should be trying to play Arkansas, Nebraska and Colorado fairly regularly. Not every year but not 25 years in between. I do think that there should be a ranked or a team that has been ranked in the last decade on the non-conference schedule every other year.

Holder once said that as far as he knew, he could schedule a game with anyone out there. Before Gundy threw his little fit, Holder scheduled Georgia, Arizona, Mississippi State and Florida State. Michigan doesn’t seem to far from them.

The Georgia series was massive for us. The loss in Athens wasn’t bad because we weren’t very good that year but it gave us a little exposure, and the game in Stillwater is probably the defining game in terms of the transcendence of the program from the lower middle tier closer towards the upper tier of teams across America. I can’t think of a better H&H series than Oregon. They’re the perfect comparator for us. The uniform aspect, college size, overall performances, the two are pretty comparable and will help both programs with wins. Another team I would love to get a H&H with would be someone like Penn state.

It will depend on how he’s used as well as how often. In two years, if he’s not getting the opportunities to be productive, I could see it.
