Spencer Sanders Finally Has Consistency in Spring

He plays competition every year bud

I would like to think we wouldn’t settle for never competing for a conference championship like we have now.

U crying about it ever day has gotten us how much closer to a championship.

No. I don’t think we need to go that far. However, I wouldn’t mind scheduling a North Carolina, Oregon, or Wisconsin. You know…teams we like to think we are better than and are P5 teams, but reluctantly have a head coach that’s afraid to play them until he’s forced to play them.

I never thought that when he first started. I only thought that when he continued to show me he doesn’t have what it takes to get a couple of more Bedlam wins and continues to make 3rd or 4th the normal. Especially with a Texas program that been down for over 10 seasons now.

The only bad thing about gundy coaching for the next 20 years is listening to u cry for 20 years.

So that makes him a bad coach? At a program that has traditionally been bad for the majority of its existence. Hmm

Did I say he was a bad coach? I would say he’s average. Was once considered one of the best coaches in the league and these days people aren’t so sure if he’s in the top 5 in the conference.

I mean…we are finding ways to lose games we shouldn’t lose. If that’s not obvious to you then I don’t know what is. I can understand him not winning bedlam every year or every other year, but at some point when you lose 6 or 7 in a row while programs like Iowa State and K State are finding ways to beat them then it tells me you should give the HC a second look.

Blue turf game at Boise isn’t good enough? Or Mississippi state? #1 defending natty champs FSU? H&H with Pitt? (they were a top 25 team and won at Clemson the first year, ended up sucking the next), in the future 2 H&H’s with Arkansas? H&H with Arizona state? H&H with Oregon? They don’t play 3 high schools every single year. And every team in the United States of America plays at least one, usually two, FCS or Mid-level programs.

Also, I’ve said this before but top tier teams are not chomping at the bit to play a school like Ok state. There’s typically no good reason for them to. Either they win and national media says “ehh, they beat a decent Okstate team, not the biggest thing in the world” or they lose, ruining their season. Of course there’s always exceptions but typically you see top tier blue bloods playing other top tier blue bloods or an FCS school, Middle tier schools playing other middle tier schools or an FCS school, and bottom tier schools playing other bottom tier schools or an FCS school. Teams like Bama or Clemson typically have very little to gain by playing someone like okstate or Washington or Iowa, someone like that.

Pat Jones “If you get a chance to schedule Missouri State three times you schedule them three times.”

Luckily for us we might have an AD now that isn’t going to succumb to Gundy wanting to play the Montana State and Missouri States of the world and we can actually play some decent competition. Boise State is fine I just wish there was more emphasis on playing a P5 school every season that doesn’t consistently go 2-10 and then we scream how good we are when we win by 14 or so.

I think Boise, Oregon, and ASU are all good pulls for us. Arkansas is great as far as state lines go, i just wish they’d stop being terrible at football before then. I agree I’d like to at least see us take another shot at someone at the top like we did with FSU, but that game is a perfect example of why teams like that hesitate to play teams like us. We absolutely sucked that year and ■■■■ near beat them. They didn’t get much out of the win, but it would have derailed their CFP appearance if Walsh didn’t fumble that football.

Hate to call the kid out but Jeremy Seaton blew that one. On the Walsh fumble, FSU only had one DB on the weak side and when Walsh kept the read, that DB was the only FSU player on that entire side of the field that could have made the tackle. The kid wasn’t even trying to get around any blocks, and Seaton walked up to him face to face and deliberately stepped out of the kid’s way and ignored blocking anyone. The DB popped out behind Seaton and cut Walsh’s legs out, who I’m sure assumed Seaton had the easiest block of his entire life covered and he would have 60 yards of wide open green grass to jog in for a go-ahead touchdown. Instead, he found himself upside down landing on his head.

I think you’re thinking of Coastal Carolina. West was tra$h last season but hey I guess that one win over The Citadel makes them pretty good, hah hah: https://www.espn.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/id/2717

Not sure you paid attention last season, Arkansas improved a lot and are no longer terrible. The Okie head coach has them going in the right direction! And we didn’t suck the year we almost beat FSU.

They went 3-7 last year… Which followed up two straight 2-10 seasons and a 4-8 season. They haven’t won more than 33% of their games in a half decade. Imagine if we went 3-9 once? Or even 5-7? The sky would fall.

And as for our 2014 team, we lost 5 straight games by 20+ points, and didn’t hit more than 14 points in a game for over a month and a half. Finally got things semi turned around with the switch to Mason, but that team was not very good. Our worst team since ‘06.

Let’s be like ou and schedule who they played last year. Oh yea we did. Joey try to listen to what the big boys are telling u. Stay in ur high chair crying.

I think u are miss lead about Arkansas being good.
There had been a few guys talk how good they were.

Yeah was thinking of Coastal Carolina.

How about we start challenging for conference titles again? Or perhaps maybe win one? Sound good to you?

Like I said were scheduling like ou so were on the way.
