Statistically speaking there are more players in the NFL that were 4 & 5 star recruits in high school. So yeah most of the time they are better. Is that the case all the time? No not all the time, but a majority of the time it is. That’s not just something I made up. That is a statistical fact. I know you have a hard time accepting those but hear me out.

If you claim Gundy to be a great coach then we need him to recruit better. If he can finish 4th with almost nothing but three star recruits imagine what he could do with a few more 4 stars. You guys love to bring up Texas as an example so let’s use Texas. Star caliber players but only win about as many games as OSU has the last couple of seasons. Bad coaching I guess. Imagine how good Texas would be if they hired the right coach? They would be neck and neck with OU for the conference title every season.

So you should want Gundy to recruit more higher caliber players. Because that will once and for all settle the argument if he’s really worth the checks that the school writes out to him. Then you can brag all day long about how wrong AR, Jeff, Logan and myself were if Gundy succeeds. I’m not asking even for him to win a conference title. I’m just asking that he makes it to Arlington to play for one.

So every four star that doesn’t pan out, it’s because the coach isn’t very good?

Can you read? Pay attention to the NO NOT ALL THE TIME, y’all are so obsessed with making excuses for Gundy that you can’t comprehend basic English.

Lol okay buddy, that’s not what he wrote in his comment. I’m with all of ya now let’s fire Gundy, and when we are in the same position as Arkansas has been I look forward to hearing y’all b*tch about itšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

You should really see someone about your anger over a college football program :joy:

.

In general, are 4ā˜† players better than 3ā˜† players?

They’re supposed to be. But that’s not the question I asked. He pretty much said if a four star player had a good coach he will be successful on the field and that’s just not true. I would love to see higher ranked recruiting classes, but I’m also a realist and understand the challenges of recruiting to Oklahoma state. Especially with our budget

Tell me if you see a problem here?

OU avg. 93.19
Texas avg. 88.87
WVU avg. 87.21
TCU avg. 86.98
Baylor avg. 86.47
TTU avg. 86.23
OSU avg. 86.15
KSU avg. 85.49
ISU avg. 84.94
KU avg. 84.77

Man I really don’t care about the overall avg. we always end up taking a couple kids that bump it way down, and then those kids turn out to be all big 12 caliber (Malcolm Rodriguez)

So recruiting in the bottom half of the conference is good with you.

Sure even though we’re 3rd this year?

We’re 3rd because we took 3 or 4 more kids. If the other teams pick up kids out of the portal we might be fighting Kansas for the bottom. Not to mention that Kansas is bringing in 4ā˜† a lot higher than ours.

Portal doesn’t go to recruiting ranking.

I realize that but that is why some coaches are taking less kids in their class.

Hm if you say so lol I’ve yet to hear that

Lincoln Riley was on the news this week talking about it and bragging about the good kid they just got out of Tennessee.

And he said that’s why he took less kids . Because he knew for sure he was gonna get those kids?

Exactly what he said and Patterson said something similar last year.
