The Big 12 Had A Rough First Night at the 2022 NFL Draft

It’s the second consecutive year the Big 12 has not had a first-rounder.

Not a good look and only reinforces the narrative that the Big 12 is an inferior conference.

I would love to have alot of nfl drafts. But, drafts don’t get wins. One of the highest teams with nfl players in the last few years is maimi. Byu tore up the pac12.
You can’t base the draft as a component of the league.

Really it’s showing the lack of good recruiting rankings.
Look at tulsa find guys. And fsc with smaller schools.
How many first round guys this were not from power 5. 4.

Tulsa has had 2 first round picks in the last 2 years and the B12 zero….something is rotten in the state of Denmark!

I know!!! A 6-6 Tulsa team getting a first round draft pick over the Fiesta Bowl Champions.

It’s more sad that your buddy riley missed him.

First round draft picks is not a good measure of conference strength. Head-to-head bowl games is a much better measure.

Perceived conference strength is a result of sports journalism hype. The SEC is the beneficiary of such hype. In reality, the SEC comprises two super great teams at the top and a Kansas-like team at the bottom, and a bunch of has-beens and wanna-be’s in the middle. Army over Missouri. Purdue over Tennessee. UCF over Florida. Houston over Auburn. Texas Tech over Miss State. Baylor over Ole Miss. Kansas St over LSU.

Jug thinks we’re a sub division of the nfl.
I myself wouldn’t notice if pro sports were gone. We have the Kardashians making millions off guys like joy.

BTW, how is Jeff Gladney working out?

For kids who’s ultimate goal is the NFL, who thinks this looks good?

1.6% of college football players reach the NFL. Kids need a better ultimate goal.

What about uo and texit and their marvelous top ranked recruiting classes and their preseason hype rankings, odd on making the playoffs, heisman? They havent had any first rounders either and they are going to the SEC

You don’t even mention OU or Texas….

Pretty sure this is Gundy’s fault. Dude is dragging down the entire league. If the Pokes would just fire the guy then the Big12 would have many first rounders. No doubt about it.

Jarrod, Thank goodness we are sending OU and UT to the cellars in the E. Now maybe the B12 will gain some credibility.

If you want to engage in whataboutism that’s fine. Sure, OU and Texas didn’t have a 1st round draft pick. It still doesn’t change the fact the other 8 schools of the Big 12 didn’t have a player go in the 1st round as well.
The Big 12 is fighting a perception problem. It’s considered an inferior conference, especially since it’s two biggest brands, OU and Texas, are leaving for the SEC.

Agreed. The SEC is way too hyped. The hype made Alabama who they were. And Nick Saban as well. But the hype got worse with Nick Saban. The SEC usually won’t play good non conference opponents because they don’t want to lose the hype. After Nick play WV he didn’t want another big12 team as a non conference opponents again. Much hate for the big12.
