Man, how should I know? Last season was never going to be successful. The coaching staff got entirely overhauled, Hejny goes down, Gundy gets fired which kicks off the transfer exodus, we end up starting a WR at QB and there were still a couple of competitive games. If we have a decent QB option, we don’t lose players to transfer, the team has time to come together… can all of that turn a one win season and a couple of close games into six wins? Maybe. I suspect we would’ve beaten Tulsa. I still don’t know how good Hejny is, thougj. Maybe he is average. I don’t know what the ceiling reasonably was.
Most predictions have us hovering right around bowl eligibility this season. What happens if Mestemaker goes down for the year in the first game? What does our 5.5 over/under become? 3.5? 2.5?
Yet, you said “let’s just wait and see”. None of us had to wait and see dude. It’s common sense that when you put a staff together of fired coaches nearly 60, and recruit dudes from Marshall and UTEP that you’re probably not going to be very successful.
What kind of drugs have you been using? I’d like to know so I can live in an alternate reality like you. The fact we couldn’t beat a three win Tulsa team is enough evidence that even if they had kept things together they weren’t going to improve fast enough for bowl eligibility .
I’m confident our offense will be loads better this season (and the coaching overall) that we won’t have to worry about the QB having to run for his life to make something happen like this past season .
I read exactly what you put. How about you learn to think for a moment. Are we winning more than 1 game if Mestemaker did go down?
Here you are stuck moving the goal post again. We told you before the season even started we weren’t real confident in what we had. That was proven by going 1-11. Even if you don’t lose Hejny, thinking this team would’ve won more than 5 games is fool’s gold.
Would be nice for a change if you accepted reality for what it is. Instead of trying to look smart by digging deeper into something that isn’t there .
