Thunder thread

He’s one of the best players in the league. It’s not by accident he gets “bailed out” by his footwork. Dude is one of the best passers in the league as well. He’s a point forward and the offense runs through him.

I know, I know, in the vein of Arvydas Sabonis or Vlade Divac.

Another huge win. I know SA is down this season, but a 28-point win is a good win regardless. The defense looks good, and the lineup is deep. I’m getting more and more excited for what this team can do in the playoffs.

Why haven’t we given Dort an actual contract yet? He was +36 tonight and he’s been solid for us pretty much every game he’s played.

Because they can save a couple hundred thousand dollars if they wait until the deadline to sign their last guy to a contract.

Dort’s rise to our starting “three-and-d” guy is incredible. He is good. He was creating a lot of problems for the Nuggets back on Friday.

Anyone want to talk about how trash Ferguson is now? Dort by almost just pure effort has taken his job and doesn’t seem very keen on giving it back.

Yeah, he isn’t even trade bait anymore as an additional piece in a larger deal. He is mostly unplayable. I didn’t see this kind of fall off coming. I didn’t know that he would ever improve to where we needed him to be, but I didn’t see him regressing like he has.

He’s the type that needs to be on a court constantly so he stays in that rhythm. Once he left for his personal reasons he got out of it and now can’t even defend it seems. Dort took his job and he seems… unbothered which is weird for a professional competitor. .

Are we talking Terrance Ferguson or Jeremy Lamb?

At least Lamb didn’t hide that he didn’t really care :joy:

The thing is, Dort was in the G League (D League?)…but was hungry. And now that he’s there, he wants more. The dude is hyper-competitive, I love it.

Yeah that’s what I was saying. TFerg and Dort aren’t very different besides Dort is thicker. But Dort is playing like he never wants that starting job to leave and Ferg is just like :man_shrugging: das cool man.

Even Donovan came out and said he hoped that not starting would light a fire under Ferg, but it hasn’t.

10. Oklahoma City Thunder
Record: 35-22
Week 18 ranking: 10

At 35-22, the Thunder would need to go 15-10 in their remaining 25 games to get to 50 wins – something the franchise hasn’t done since Kevin Durant was wearing a Thunder uniform. Fifteen of those games are on the road, which might make the task seem more daunting; but then again, the Thunder are riding an eight-game road winning streak. They came out of the break with a barometer game against the Nuggets – a possible first-round opponent – and put down an impressive 12-point win. The Thunder are serious. – Young

This week: @CHI, SAC, @MIL

THIS THUNDER TEAM YALL.

Thunder need to go 15-10 in their final 25 to get to 50 wins for the first time since KD left. They play 12 objectively bad teams (PHX, DET, CHA, GSW, NYK x2, ATL, BKN, WSH, MIN, CHI, SAC). Then they have MEM x2 which you should win. You won’t go 14-0 against that schedule, but you realistically should go 11-3. 4 more wins and you have DAL, UTA x2 which are very winnable. Then LAC x 2, LAL, MIA, MLK, BOS, DEN x 2 which will all be really stiff tests.

I like them staying below the radar though.

Dort is going to be finals MVP.

Chase Buford is my hero now. (Warning: NSFW):

Now I feel bad for dogging Lamb. He got injured including a torn ACL, torn meniscus and lateral femoral condylar fracture… He actually was playing pretty well averaging 12.5. He stayed in and made the free throws after getting hurt too. Wild.

I know. I saw that on the ESPN bottom crawl last night. I felt like a tool. I didn’t even realize he was in Indiana. I don’t watch a ton of NBA outside of the Thunder and when I do it is more Western Conference than Eastern. We get the Hawks local broadcasts here in Tuscaloosa… No thanks. Hopefully he recovers. People are coming back from knee injuries better than they did even a decade ago, although his injury seems pretty extensive.
