So when do we start to limit CP3 minutes for the playoff run? Houston did better in the playoffs when he was healthy (obviously), and I do not want to overplay him in meaningless regular season games

I feel like some of those “tougher” games coming down the pike would be good candidates. He should play against the crap teams so we’re assured a certain playoff spot.

That’s what concerns me. Watched Houston do that a few of the first years with him and he got hurt or was worn down. They flamed out of the playoffs in spectacular fashion because of it.

He is already playing the 2nd fewest minutes per game over his career. I think they will limit him some, but I think they are happy with where he is minutes-wise.

Didn’t know that. I just like to plan for the worse, I guess

Playing the 2nd fewest minutes of his career is slightly misleading as he missed large portions of other seasons with injuries so he is going to play more total minutes this year. He changed to that plant based diet that a lot of athletes are moving to. He is playing at a better weight this year than he has the last several seasons and he says he feels better. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him sit a little more in SEGABABA situations, but he is at just over 31 minutes a game which I feel is reasonable. Russ was always around 36.

Must have watched “Gamechangers” on Netflix. It was interesting, but basis (per the wife) about plant based diets

I actually haven’t seen it. I have just read about it several places. Is Gamechangers any good?

I liked it. I have switched to more plant based on heavy cardio days and have noticed a positive difference. But I use meat based for recovery. Notice* not a doctor or professional anything, just experimenting

CP3 most likely will see a couple games of sitting on SEGABABA’s but I doubt we load manage him much. He loves to ball and won’t ask for it. In addition to the less minutes he’s playing here, he’s got two other guys who can handle the ball around him too. If you watch closely he absolutely takes plays off if he needs to and lets the young guys work.

SOOOOOOO anyone want to talk about this squad that’s now in the 5 spot and 2 games back of the 4?!?!!

Should get a win tonight and Houston has Boston coming up. Thunder probably lose to the Bucks but if they win that somehow then we could be looking at being a half game out of 4th over the weekend!

Yeah, this is pretty incredible. I never once thought this team would be in doubt of losing that pick to the Sixers this upcoming draft, but here we are. It’s going to be close. They have the 2nd most wins in the league since Thanksgiving behind only the Bucks.

So I was reading about this and losing that pick might actually be a good thing. Because if we get that pick we have to give them our second round picks for 2022 and 2023. One of these two years is going to be when they start back up allowing high schoolers to go directly to the NBA. Due to this a second round pick in that year could very easily be more valuable than a 1st round pick next year when the draft class is expected to be weak.

Ummm…hmmm…

Without having read your post a second time for clarity, first round picks are always better…

He’s saying it wouldn’t be awful or maybe a good thing if we were able to keep our second round pick basically in 2022. That’s the “double draft” where high school kids will be allowed to enter. Personally I’m on the fence. I would really like a first rounder but if we don’t get it it’s fine and we still have a first round pick from Denver.

My verdict: Wouldn’t be a great thing, but also definitely not bad. Kind of a wash really.

You are in entirely too deep on this Thunder thread, my friend.
