True about Nerlens, didn’t really think about that. I’m looking more at a starting 5 post-trade.
I get you on Klay…as much as it pains me to admit it, because I hate him with the heat of a million suns for Game 6…
But Lavine can shoot threes at the same clip. He can do it with a hand in his face. AND he can finish at the rim way better than Klay can.

Watch the 2:10 mark on. He schools Marcus Smart a few times. Again, he can do things Klay can’t. His athleticism is elite.
Chimpy, buddy… I am with Scotty boy here. Thompson is an elite scorer. Lavine is between good and great.
This I will agree with.
Klay is a more polished player. He makes smarter plays. I will give you that.
But Lavine, man…that dude is a freak of nature with an open court.
Maybe Klay is more dependable, if you need a bucket. Comes with the whole “polished” aspect. Lavine is still a bit of a blunt instrument that needs to be sharpened.
Game 6 Klay is still scoring.
Klay - Career FG%- 46%, 3pt FG%- 42% True shooting % -57%
Lavine - Career FG%- 44%, 3pt FG%- 48% True shooting % -55.3%
They may be closer than I think overall, but Klay is 10th all time in 3pt shooting already. Lavine is like 168th. Not saying he can’t shoot threes, but comparing those two on the three point line isn’t fair to Lavine.
Lavine is an athletic freak yes, but Klay is no slouch either and can finish as well as just about any other shooting guard who doesn’t handle the ball as much.
Unrelated but Smart’s defense has fallen off a bit as those things do with age and playing with Kyrie for a few years.
Well…let me put it to you this way: Lavine has three-point shooting ability if we need it.

I agree that having Lavine would be a nice thing to have absolutely. We just disagree that he’s Klay good. But like I said, Klay is a hall of famer, so not being as good isn’t a bad thing necessarily. Lavine would fit with the athleticism of this team while also keeping people honest on the three point line. If only the bulls would let him go.
I remember exactly where I was, and why I was there:

That third quarter…I could just feel the depression setting in, knowing full well if we lost that, we were losing Game 7.
I maintain, to this day, that Game 5 is where they needed to go full-blown “shut it down” and end it. Any further and they were losing.
Lol, Ja Morant won’t ever play for the Thunder. Honestly, I don’t think he likes playing for the Grizzlies. I think he’s just playing hard, as a sort of “audition” for the “bigger” teams that will obviously come along and pluck him eventually.
Ja Morant is so impressive. That dude can BALL. But the Grizz will hold on to him obviously so they’ve got 4 years to prove to him that they can become something.
I don’t think he is the best player in the league, or even close. But I think he is as exciting to watch as any. Such a phenomenal basketball player.

Well no, he’s still just 20. Lebron is still the best player in the NBA right now. Morant is probably going to be a star if he stays healthy. He’s got all the talent in the world.

stands up, clears throat Lebron is the best player in the world right now still. When he wants to, the guy can’t be stopped. And if you pack the paint he’ll just shoot over you. He’s the most athletic person in the NBA, can rebound with anyone, scores at will when he wants, passes better than 99% of the league, and can check anyone on the court defensively.
Kawhi is closing the gap, so is Giannis, but Lebron is still the bestest.
