Since this is sort of a “Thunder + NBA thread”, one guy to watch on the Grizzlies is Brandon Clarke. His PER is 22.47, currently, coming off the bench. Dude was a major steal. Pretty sure the Grizzlies got him with a pick that was traded to them by the Thunder.

I’m still mad about them not taking Clarke. Bazely hasn’t been as bad as I thought. But Clarke is the real deal and we should have him.

I remember where I was. Section 328, Row L, seat 2. It’s where our family has sat since they got to OKC. That is by far the worst feeling after a Thunder game I’ve had at the Peake, even counting the NBA Finals loss.
Yeah, and Clarke was a proven guy with “big college bball program” experience. Bazley, while he looks pretty decent by all accounts, is yet another “project” prospect that annoys me. Just like Terrence Ferguson. Give me someone who has played with all of the lottery picks. Not someone who’s been playing in Australia or Croatia with a bunch of scrubs.

Make no mistake, I’m glad they can continue to play. In fact, I’m jealous they get to do it while living overseas, which I think, in a sense, makes up for the lesser pay they get for not playing in the NBA. I would kill to play ball in Europe.

Oh, in the Teague deal? That’s an interesting one. Without having looked at the entirety of the trade, I’m not sure why two crappy teams are doing it.
Atlanta gets a backup for Trae who needs to rest every once in a while without their team losing all control. Minnesota frees up a roster spot (hint that there is more trading to come) and both teams get expiring contracts to free up money.
I wonder if we will be trading with them…
Looks like Atlanta may be giving Stephen Adams a second look…
Also, a fun side tidbit:
My wife is a faculty member of the Psychology Department at St. Jude. They were given an allotment of tickets for tonight’s Grizzlies game against the Cavaliers. Kevin Love was going to meet with them before the game, because he’s a big mental health advocate (he has anxiety/panic attack issues). They found out late yesterday that they won’t be meeting with him due to “availability changes” or something like that. My wife is speculating he could be involved in trade talks…

You never know obviously, but the Hawks making moves right now is weird to me. They want Drummond but that’s apparently dead. Their next target is Adams, but why? He’s got a massive contract for two more years and the Hawks are 9-32 and need all the picks they can get. For Steven it’s a minimum of 2 first rounders I would think. I would say the Hawks wait until the offseason and try to get Drummond again. The Thunder don’t do trades that they lose (I know everyone will say “BUT HARDEN”) and at this point, the Thunder with 15 picks are in a position to ask for the world in trades.
Kevin Love is almost guaranteed to move this year before the deadline. To where? I’m not exactly sure. But he doesn’t want to be there and the Cavs want to move on.

I only attend Thunder-Grizz games. And I yell very loudly for the Thunder every time they do something good.

I know some people don’t like The Ringer for whatever reason. I happen to think they’re alright. This article from the 8th is a very complicated way of explaining how I feel right now.

The Ringer seems to have some weird obsession with the Thunder. They cover them a bunch for being a national brand.

To be very fair, the Thunder have been a very intriguing/entertaining team even without KD, for a long time. They’ve always had juicy story lines.

It’s always nice to see Harden get schooled, because of his atrocious defense (Schroder hit the clincher over him).
