This portal situation looks disgusting. We won’t win a single conference game next season with these kinds of results. Not even get close to it. It’s the first year for a 12 team CFP and our HC is trying to become the old Kansas for the foreseeable future.

I would imagine our offense recruiting is kind of in limbo until a new OC is announced, and sometimes they bring guys with them. Curious if Gundy will relent on his commitment to not let people back on the team after they test the portal waters. Things have changed and OSU has to keep up.

It’s ironic regarding Gundy’s stance on portal players. Check out this article about Dillingham at ASU. Treat the men like they are men, recognize that some may leave for more money (even Gundy’s used that trick to get paid) but if you treat them like men, many will actually stay. Have you ever turned down a job that paid more than you were making? If so, why? Was it because your boss treated you right? You weren’t just a number on a roster card. (side note: This part of Gundy irks me. Name another coach that calls out his own players by number rather than name?) Dillingham is doing it right and Gundy could learn a lesson or two.

Hey basketball has won some games. They won’t be world beaters in the toughest conference going but they are fun to watch. I’m sure Lutz will be trash to you two by the end of the year

I agree! If they want immediate play when transferring then athletes should have to repay NIL money before transferring. That would slow this craziness down a bit.

Agree. Ive said it for 2 years now. The NIL is here and never going away. But the portal…can alleviate a bunch of this headache if you put a 1 yr sit out restriction

Gundy returned 20 starters from a 10 win team last season. Then proceeded to not win a single conference game, and if not for Arkansas players being idiots, would’ve lost that one as well. He didn’t need to hit the portal big last season, remember? Of course, you could try to excuse your way out of this one. However, it’s still not going to address how the greatest coach in school history accomplished the longest losing streak in school history either. Name me one other coach most recently that’s returned the most starters in the conference, and found a way to get zero conference wins?

Player contracts will be the answer IMO. A player agrees to be at a program for X amount of years in exchange for NIL or scholarship.

What I just told you are facts you don’t like. You couldn’t respond appropriately. Because there isn’t a valid response for such failure. I’ve told you in the past that Gundy finds ways to do less with more as well. This season was a perfect example of that. Which is why he’ll never win the conference ever again unless he has a top 10 offense and defense along with about 20+ portal players that can positively contribute immediately. You overestimate what the man can actually do. Again, tell me a coach that got zero conference wins returning the most starters in the conference?

Matt Campbell went to a place with worse football tradition than Gundy, and he’s also played for the conference title just as many times since the CCG was reinstated in 2017. At least he can still say he’s never went winless in the conference .

It’s arguable Iowa St was worse than us before he went there ? Oops this year was thd first time they EVER won 10 games Gundy has done that 8 times
