That’s true. Matt Rhule takes over a program at Baylor in shambles and plays for a conference title in three years.
Matt Campbell takes probably the 2nd worst program in the Big 12, and in five seasons beats OU twice and plays for a conference title while winning a major bowl.
Then we have the 16 season veteran head coach mediocre Mike Gundy just barely scraping by teams and convincing people that being a mediocre program is better than playing for championships.
Because we want what’s best for the fans and the football players. A coach that’s willing to coach them to the best of his ability (and theirs) to give them a chance at playing for (and possibly) winning a conference title.
It’s pretty sad that players from TCU, Iowa State, and Baylor got to have the experience of playing for a championship, but mediocre Mike bluntly tells the players and fans that it’s pretty much not possible.
So it goes like this…on this blog you have two people. You have people that think if your having winning seasons then why change because it could be worst and we could be like where we were before less miles and then you have people that think winning seasons don’t matter because there is one goal in sports and that is to win championships. I think the first people are people that arnt as competitive as the second. Like my wife when she runs 5k’s, it doesn’t bug her to beat the previous time as long as she runs it. I don’t see any value in running if I’m not trying to better my time. So that said gundy is not bettering our chances to win a big twelve championship because the past tells us that so time to turn the page.
