Contract extensions are nothing. They’re done so opposing coaches can’t negatively recruit by saying “don’t go to (insert university) because Coach (insert Coach) won’t be there for your 4 years. Michigan has as deep, if not the deepest, donor pockets of anyone out there. Pay zero attention to contract extensions in college athletics

Oh I know Michigan has deep pockets but they don’t seem too keen on firing the guy. He has been mediocre at best at Michigan and they’ve kept him for like 6-7 seasons already.
“He may not want Michigan”. He’s a Big 10 country guy. It’s either Ohio St, Michigan, ND, Penn St up there. Your window for getting a gig like that doesn’t come open for very long, very often. Iowa St is hotter now than it will ever be…….if he’s leaving it had better be after this year.
Places like Michigan usc and Texas can be or are toxic.
Agreed. I thought he’d do great up there. His problem has been bad QB
play. That will get you fired nowadays quicker than anything. See Texas.
Can be. They also are places that, with the right guy, you can be extremely successful. Hmmm…….seems like I said something very similar in response to this very topic at some point recently. “There are drawbacks to coaching at blue blood schools too”…….

Ou hired bad coaches.after switzer. They were good asst. The Miami coach wasn’t going to be there long.
I wouldn’t say this about usc, but the other two have hired guys that have been hc. These hc have done well.
I know bb let their donors have to much influence.

I only mentioned Miami because that’s were the guy had coached. He was a stop gap been coaches.

I would disagree. Gundy has had better QB play than not. He’s dang sure had better than Texas. Gundys only on-field issue has been beating OU.
U and ar0 r funny. If u asked stoops where Texas’s faults were, he would say Texas had horrible secondary. He should know.
