10 Thoughts on Oklahoma State's 33-7 Loss to South Alabama

Can we fire this dickhead for cause? This level of negligence surely has to count for something.

When you get dominated by four touchdowns, at home, against a G5 team. Not to mention you can’t pass the ball against one of the worst pass defenses in the country, then you definitely have problems. I wish we could be as good as Kansas right now.

This 100% for your NIL take. We have to get our players paid, like ou and texas, or we will wither away to irrelevance. I read an article that stated gundy, ‘doesn’t want to see players make big NIL money.’ Well if we dont pay em, the blue bloods will. And we wont win squat. Time to get with the times and embrace NIL and the transfer portall 100% or find someone who will.

After seeing the way a celebrity football coach like Dieon Sanders can turn around a program as bad as Colorado, why not go after The Rock? :joy: lol
No but seriously

It’s always nice to know when a South Alabama defender says “We watched the tape, and they did exactly what they did on tape. We knew where they were going with the ball every single time”.

Even worse (found this on another site):

South Alabama linebacker Trey Kiser said he realized early that the Jaguars would win.

“Probably say the second or third series when they couldn’t even pass the 50-yard line,” Kiser said. “It was ridiculous seeing our defense. The plays we saw in practice we saw tonight, and it was like slow motion when they ran them.”

Pafuckingthetic.

Anyone seen Robert? I’d like to get his take on what happened Saturday night.

That’s just embarrassing and down right pitiful.

I bet ISU defense is chomping at the bit to get their turn at our offense.

Think about this. Their defensive PLAYERS knew exactly what our guys were going to do. Our Defensive Coordinator had no idea what WE were even doing. That is what happens when you hire a DC out of high school.

Figured I’d come in and start the Fire Dunn talk. That guy sucks at calling plays. Why they didn’t let him walk two years ago blows my mind. I don’t even know what he does to elevate the program. Since he’s taken over the offense is garbage at best. Currently 111th in total offense. Fire Dunn!!!

I feel like it’s a system issue. It’s predictable and controlled by Gundy not Dunn. We are seeing the same issue at Clemson. If your OC is forced into a system how is this on Dunn? How is Riley doing in Clemson’s system?

You’re two years late to come in and “start” the Fire Dunn talk.

I dont think people understand that players aren’t plug and play into any system. So Riley may be at Clemson but the players were recruited for a different type of system. We’re seeing the same thing on Defense. Oliver is a stud Pass Rusher, which is what he was recruited for and when put in that position, he excels. But he’s just an average coverage linebacker. However, in our new 3-3-5 system, his body type says he has to play linebacker and cover people. This is why I’m giving Nardo a pass this year. Dunn has no such excuse.

Nah I’ve been saying it. First time for this year.

@DickeySucksBalls
Did you grade the QBs’ game tape?
If not, how would you know enough to be so “passionate”.

Or are you just “reacting” to to Nagel’s quote of Gundy?

Dunn doesn’t know how to get the playmakers the ball. He has no deception in his offense. Hence South Alabama knew what they were doing. Think about this. They put Presley back to return kicks because he can break one. In OSUs history they tend to put their best playmaker as the punt returner. So how come Dunn doesn’t get him more touches on offense? Good OCs find ways to get the ball to the guys who can make big plays. Dunn is not an OC and was given the job so he wouldn’t leave the program.

I didn’t grade the tape, but PFF, which grades players for living, did. They had Gundy and Rangel in the 60s and Bowman in the low 70s. Not great but not terrible for any of the three. But the problem isn’t the QB. Just read the quotes from the USA players about the predictability of our offense. BTW, that’s not the first time we’ve heard that take post-game from the opposition.

And how do you expect any of the QBs to get better, given that they split what few practice reps they get three ways? And in parallel are rotating the RBs and WRs too. If you have 150 reps in practice (a very fair estimate), each QB gets 50. Now of those 50, they split reps with the RBs, so Rangel gets 15-20 total reps in practice with Ollie Gordon? And now rotate WRs in that, and its fair to assume that Rangel might get 10 reps with all starters. How do you judge how good Rangel (or any of the 3 QBs) is based on maybe 10 total practice reps with the starters? And this is 110% on the coaching staff.

Using 3 QBs again is pure insanity. Rangel needs to be the guy going forward. Gunnar won’t transfer and Bowan is done after this year. They’re all pretty mediocre so give Rangel the reigns.
