Caleb Williams ba ha ha ha!

The Oline I think will be better, largely because of an off-season with Schmiddy. The issue last year was a lack of physicality and discipline. It was a lot of holding, false starts & unsportsmanlike junk. I think the mentality alone will clean up some of that. I think this roster in 22’ will be less talented but better football players.

Defensively they lost their best DL, Pass rusher & LB. I think they’ll be thin on the DL. LB’s will be really good. They’ve got 3 coming back that started games last year & a couple pups that are big time talented. If there’s one thing I’m sure of in 22’, it’s that Venables will have excellent play out of the LB’s. Secondary is a question mark. They’ve brought in about 3 portal guys, so who knows.

I don’t disagree on the QB spot. He’s an unknown for sure. If he’s what he was before he got hurt……I think OU is in good shape. If not, then it’ll be tough sledding.

Nebraska scares you?

@jake4 Nebraska played Iowa, OU, Michigan, Mich St & Ohio St in 21’. Every one of those games was within 9pts. Nebraska will have some kids that play. It’s still a Power 5 school. Nebraska isn’t what they were in the 90’s & likely never will be again. But they’ll be good enough to beat OU at home in week 3 next year. So yes. Nebraska will be 3-0 & thinking they’re pretty good. OU will still be figuring out what they are.

That’s pretty disrespectful to be more concerned with Nebraska than OSU. Hope the coaches and players feel that too.

The only thing about Nebraska is the still dnt have a qb.

Next year the secondary will be test more by alot of teams . Not just ou.
Texas and ewers will be interesting. But they bought a oline

“Disrespectful”………dude, it’s my feeling as a fan of college football. It’s not disrespectful. “ Baylor, Texas & @Nebraska are the 3 that scare me. OSU could absolutely beat them, but I like our chances that late in the year” If that sentence by an OU fan is disrespectful to an OSU fan, then you’re way too sensitive.
It’s more about the time of the year that game is being played. Here, I’ll word it in a way that sounds more respectful of the OSU fans. Playing Nebraska on the road in week 3 scares me more than playing OSU @home in Nov.

I think Sark is a good coach & will have success at Texas. But……I thought the same thing about Charlie Strong too. I was wrong. I’ll have to pat myself on the back & say I was right on what a fool Herman was. That went exactly as I thought it would. In the last 50 years, there’s been 1 HC who could figure out how to get Texas football to the level it should be. So it won’t surprise me one bit if Texas goes 10-2 or 5-7. Who knows down there. I will say that if Sark can’t win the Big 12 in the NIL era…….then he’ll be back in AA

@jake4 “……then he’ll be back in AA”. Now that’s disrespectful.

I agree with who knows what Texas will do. But herman did go to the title game.
Nil is like sports in the pros. Did the Yankees win every year.
I’m not sure the 4th qb at tosu can lead Texas. Texas can cause their own melt down.

Going to the title game once may be fine at some places. It’s not in Austin.

But in the pros, you at least had multi-year contracts. Even the Yankees had to wait at times to sign guys. NIL isn’t the worst thing to me. The portal is the worst. Allowing a kid to leave whenever is more detrimental in my opinion

To me the portal is the only way teams that can’t pay nil to stay in the game.

I’m not surprised an ou fan we be for nil.

I was actually in shock when the nil came out. I thought we were going pay each kid so much. But, no 7 figures to a kid that’s 17. Nil will be capped some day as soon as we find out who is running the sport. All the pro sports have Capps. Nil is more like political donations and they have Capps.

“I’m not surprised an ou fan we be for nil”

No Chief, I don’t like the NIL either. But it’s not as bad as the portal is in my opinion. Steroids & gambling were the two worst things that happened to baseball. But the gambling is waaay worse. That’s how I feel about NIL & portal

I watch John Kurtz today. He has Stewart made with ou not in the top 25. John ran down ou’s loses.
2 qb
4 out 5 topp recievers
2 running backs
3 lineman
3 top slackers
I knew ou lost a lot but that’s more.
I thought u said the line was OK. Losing 3 on a not great line seem serious.
The other big is losing d play makers. That hurt u guys last year.
Sure we’re losing some I worry about line backers. But with our strong line that helps the whole d.
I dnt see out oline being worst. With growth we maybe better.
The qb is the same for both no one behind the starters. Both qb have injury issues.
I need to to look up ur transfer I knew u got a line man from Cali.
Adding alot of new players all once can cause trouble. We know it played havoc for 8 games. Just little things but stopped drives.

The NIL is 1,000 worse than the portal. The NIL is asking for corruption at worst, and at best, it completely changes the sport to further favor teams with big donors, big markets, and big audiences. The portal creates parity and allows for choice.

1 head coach in 50 years who has figured out how to get Texas where they should be? Maybe they shouldn’t be there. Haha! At what point do people stop looking at the Horns logo and budget and recruiting numbers, and start looking at results? They are who we thought they were!” Haha!

No chance in my opinion that NIL is “1,000 times” worse. Money has been given to players long before the NIL came along. Corruption? It’s legal now, so I’m not sure how or why it’d be considered corrupt. Before NIL? Absolutely. But after it? I don’t see how that’s even possible.

The big boys have always gotten the best players out of HS. This hasn’t changed that.

But the portal definitely has. Let’s take Caleb Williams. Or any of the players that left OSU recently. Even with the NIL, those guys wouldn’t be leaving……IF THEY HAD TO SIT A YEAR. They’d stay put. No chance Caleb Williams leaves OU for any other school if he had to sit a year. I don’t care what money he was offered.

OSU is great at developing players that weren’t highly recruited out of HS. The portal makes it to where that kid that OSU developed can now leave and go play right away somewhere else. That’s far worse than a player getting paid above the table. Like I said, players were getting cash before anyway. There’s definitely more of it now. But without the portal, the NIL wouldn’t be near as big a deal as it is. Look at Ewers at Ohio St. Did 1 mil in NIL keep him there? Nope. The portal is like 1yr contracts and then you hit Free Agency. It’s ridiculous.

“The portal creates parity”………where in the hell do you get that from!!! You aren’t going to see more parity in college football. Tell me where you’ve seen one ounce of parity!!!

Well a G5 made the playoff, Michigan made their first playoff, OSU was 6 inches from probably making an appearance, and Georgia won their first title in 40 years. That’s just this year.

Georgia? Michigan!!! That’s not parity. Those two are bigtime programs. I’ll give you Cincinnati. I guess it depends on what your definition of “parity in college football” is. I think the portal just gives the “Haves” another opportunity to get the best players. I think the “Have nots” will be a farm system for the big boys with some of these players. I’ll give you Cincinnati as a valid point. But the top guys are going to get even BETTER and separate themselves more so from the pack than they already are… That’s where I differ on being more parity. It’s a good discussion though

I feel sad u skipped my last post about ou and John Kurtz.
