Because you’re only mentioning the guys they lost. Go look at what Mich St did this year with a major overhaul of the roster via the portal. Go look at what Aranda was able to do at Baylor. They were the most physical team in the Conf. I think BV will do the same with the defense. I told you that we lost our best DT, pass rusher & LB. Those will be the toughest to replace. But I think we’ll be a better team. I’ve seen a couple top 25’s that didn’t have OU in them. That neither surprises me nor bothers me. I think there’s a lot of people who think OU is in trouble……I’m not one of them.
And I said the OL will be better in large part due to the off-season with Schmiddy. Being tougher & more physical will clean a bunch of that up
I dnt care really about msu.
I’m lost at what ur saying about Baylor. They lost 3 top d guys. Best back and I think 2 recievers. They to this point haven’t got all those replaced. The got A dt from tuksa who is not as good as the one their losing.
I dnt see anybody’s defense better then last year.
There will be 5 new qb
Ku has like a total of 15 new players. That is a set back.
Wv lose qb rb and a couple of play makers on d.
Ksu replaced their qb with one who stays health be at least as good. And got I think good d replacement.
Isu it’s hard to believe they can replace what they lost.
Baylor I’ve talked about.
Tcu kind of the same as isu.
Tech has tried to get some d help.
We’ve talked about ou.
Texas I can’t see they can turn that defense around.
I think ou osu, Baylor and ksu have 2 loses each.
I know we have 5 road games.
On osu I’m only worried about rb and lb.
On Baylor. One of your buddies asked me about how could OU be better based off a coach. Look what Aranda did with Baylor. They’re tough. Physical. They’re better. BV I think will have the same effect.
Everybody wants to talk about what teams lose. OSU lost some good players. OU did too. But fellas, there are still 85 guys on the rosters in Stillwater & Norman. I’m sure some of em can play a little bit. I’ve said multiple times who OU lost. We still have some RB’s that can play. We still have some WR’s that can play. Offensively, I’m more worried about the OL than anything……including QB. Defensively, I’m not worried one bit. I’m pretty sure BV will have us playing good defense. I didn’t say great. I said good. I’m pretty sure there are a bunch of people on this site that think OU will be terrible. There are a bunch on SoonerScoop that think OU will win the Nat title. Neither of those aren’t realistic.
Michigan State is exactly who I meant when I mentioned parity. They built a competitive roster through the portal this year.
I thought the same thing would happen, but the farm system hasn’t proven out so far. There have been players leaving blue blood programs for playing time. Teams can’t just stockpile players. Most of the people who left OSU weren’t developed and then courted by blue bloods. Blue bloods have 5 star freshmen coming in that they don’t want to alienate. We had the one guy go with Knowles, but that’s probably more of a concession letting him bring a guy that knows his system and culture. The guys we lost mostly went to worse programs like Nevada and Nebraska.
Also, to the NIL thing, just because something is legal doesn’t make it not corrupt.
Amanda wast that tuff on keeping team safe from the virus. If he had more players they would have won more then 2 games.
Charley strong came in like u want. Didn’t work out.
I know what ur saying about ou has players. But only returning 3 off. Players.
If more people understood this
Michigan St did get a ton of help through the portal. They went 11-2. But, that was their 6th time in the last 11 years that they won 10+ games. So it didnt change their program or anything enough that its a sign of parody in college football.
We all admit that Bama, Georgia and the other big boys get the lions share of the big time (5 star) recruits out of HS. So they already have a headstart on the competition. Now though, they also pick up guys down the road through the transfer portal. Jamison Williams and Henry To’o To’o were two studs for Bama that theyd never have if it werent for the portal. In the 22’ season, theyve added Jahmyr Gibbs and Jermain Burton. Two players that likely will be studs too. So those programs are getting the cream of the crop on National Signing Day, then you add to it that they are getting the cream of the crop 2 years later too. “Blue bloods have 5 star freshmen coming in that they dont want to alienate”. There is zero truth to that. The big boys arent bringing in a bunch of portal guys…but the ones they do bring in tend to be STUDS. You cannot argue that the portal is another way to get better players to better programs. The portal is not closing the gap on the big boys…its widening it.
When was the program ever on the “downtick”?
@TheHeadChimp What program are you referring to?
"Amanda wast that tuff on keeping team safe from the virus" What in the hell are you saying?!?!
“Only returning 3 offensive players” Thats not accurate.
RB: Marcus Major and Eric Gray
WR: Marvin Mims, Drake Stoops, Jalil Farooq (Theo Wease returns from injury)
OL: Wanya Morris, Anton Harrison, Raym
TE: Braydon Willis
The RB room is loaded. You have those 2 guys and then 2 Freshman coming in that were highly rated
WR room is really good if they can stay healthy. OL, like ive said, is the question mark. But they 3 guys who have started games and added a few portal guys. TE has Willis who is a stud and they added 2 highly rated guys. Again, im not saying this is a Playoff team. But I am saying that I think theyll be good enough to play for the Big 12 title.
Your favorite one.
So real question, did you actually go to OU, or do you live in a trailer park and have an OU flag that comes off of your trailer?
@TheHeadChimp See…THATS A TROLL.
I live in my mothers basement and eat cheetos in my underwear all day.
Ou and Baylor were worst on the virus. Baylor were close on alot of games. Better virus protection they should have won more.
On ou. I’m just pointing u have lost alot on offense. Probably more then ever. I was going of starters.
Gray my be fine or he was a great backup.
Example. Nixon a freshman back ran for 100 yards in clean up last in the ku game. Is he a great back we will see.
Stoop is a nice reciever but is he going to be ur number one.
What happens if u lose ur qb in the first game. We have the same thing. I’m just it’s alot of new guys coming in ur hoping to mess. It’s has nothing to do with how good they are.
I just don’t understand why you peruse an Oklahoma State blog. Going on another team’s blog is very 2005.
I have no idea on the virus deal. No clue what that means
The biggest loss was the QB. But, thats also potentially the biggest addition too. Gabriel was a really good player. Who knows what hell do. He may be terrible. He could be injury-prone. RB like I said, will be a really good room. Major will be a really good player. Gray is a 3rd down guy. Stoops is not a #1 by any stretch. Mims is. Wease is IF HEALTHY. Farooq is too. WR will have to stay healthy.
Crying about someone merely perusing a different perspective is very 2021. So kudos to you for being another snowflake. I encourage you to broaden your horizons and see things from a perspective different than your own.
Ive covered this many times. I was originally directed to this site for some very, very good college baseball content. I have some ties to some former OSU baseball staffers and some current OSU baseball players up there and this site was really informative. The content was very good across the board. It was the best site I had come across. It was and still is very realistic in the opinion-based stuff. Its not a Robert Allen fan-boy site. The only negative are posters like you and a few others who simply want to get into pee-pee contests because of the team I root for. I dont troll or fish for fights on here. I have a paid subscription to SoonerScoop too, but its got too much Pro-OU propaganda for my liking. The discussion can be pretty good on here. So put down the video game controller and get an actual big-boy haircut. Mohawks are for grade-schoolers
Why do mohawks bother you all so much? It’s hair. HAIR. It’s just a hairstyle. Like…it is so befuddling to me how that triggers people so much. You call me a “snowflake”? Look in the mirror, bud.
You’re just a clown that has to passive-aggressively troll our website with these stupid subtleties about how great OU is and always will be. It isn’t “in your face”, but it’s still condescending bullshit.
"Why do mohawks bother you all so much?" They dont bother me. My 12 yr old nephew and his baseball teammates get them every summer. They are the cutest little thing youve ever seen.
"Look in the mirror" Neither your physical appearance nor mine is what brings up the snowlflake reference. Its your whining about someone having a different opinion than you is what makes you a snowlflake. None of my posts have been trolling or dumping on OSU. Not a single one. Its called an OPINION. People have said negative things about OU on here. It doesnt make me big mad or needing to take my ball and go elsewhere.
If someone says “OU is great and always will be”.…thats not subtle. At all. Thats hyperbole. And again, youve never seen me post a single thing remotely close to “OU is great and always will be”. You are just a clown who automatically assumes my opinions or takes are trash simply because I root for your rival. Be better than that. Be capable of having a discussion with someone on the other side of the aisle.
…but you brought it up.
