Well considering the guy that was probably the best overall coach to ever coach here, Jimmy Johnson, went 0-5 against the gooners, I am not going to blame Gundy completely on that one. I mean Jimmy has a national championship and two super bowl wins, but he never beat OU while coaching here.
Let’s keep making excuses for Gundy. Everyone wants to claim Gundy’s dismal record against OU is because how dominant OU has been, but Texas is the only national champion during Gundy’s tenure.

Little stat for the day, 70% of the players available for the super bowl last night were 3-star recruits or lower. Not sure how much that means for recruiting stars for colleges, but interesting. Players are worth way more, or less, than what a 300-pounder on their basement laptop says they are coming out of HS.
Well if 3☆’a are so dominant, you should have no problem guaranteeing Gundy will win the conference title next season and make it to the playoffs. I for one can’t wait to all these 3☆s kicking OU’s 4 and 5☆S all over the field. Oh wait that’s never happened for Gundy. Maybe 3☆can beat OU but they need a different coach than Gundy.

With that stat shouldn’t every team with mainly 3☆ be dominating Alabama who has very few 3☆ and below? How is it that Alabama has put more players into the NFL the last decade than any other school? Don’t they want all 3☆ and below?
No one said that 5 stars aren’t good, especially when you get the majority of them. They have 3rd team guys that are 5 star. They are like the goons they have deep pockets, just the goons have less. Maybe. Doesn’t make the stat any less true. Also, OU isn’t a top 10 recruiting program over the past decade. They’re outperforming every single school in the top 10 of recruiting this decade except for Alabama and arguably Ohio state. Having one of, if not the, greatest offensive mind in CFB history helps.
You do know there are only 32 5 star players every year ? That’s less than 1/3 per D 1 school. Alabama probably gets 6-7 a year which takes it even further down. I’m not sure on the 4 star but the majority of players for D1 are 3 star. Figure that out for yourself
