Go ask Iowa State and Baylor fans if they’re satisfied with what they see after a good season. The entire subject is that Texas doesn’t consider 8-5 a “good year”. Try to keep up here.

If that were true then I would expect more than a conference title every 4-5 years and an NY6 bowl team in. This just tells me you don’t have the slightest clue on what a BB program expects. Not everything runs the same like it does in Stillwater.

You do expect more the gundy. More then gundy is a bb team. Run gundys numbers. If we had title games chosen like this year, we would have 6 title games. 80% non con, 60% con 68% over all 60 % bowl. We have better numbers then texas since 2010.
Compare those numbers with any of those you picked out since 2010. I dnt care if they fire guys at 8 and 5.

I also don’t care about comparing since 2010. Because the fact still remains that we’re 5th in the conference when it comes to Big 12 conference titles. Nobody is going to investigate how many times you made it. They’re going to focus on how many times you won it. Why do you think Iowa never gets any respect?

Yep 7 wins is entering the danger zone for just about any program that is serious about having a quality program. Texas isn’t unique here. In fact Texas seems to be inclined to pull the trigger early which is why they have been SH&T in the last decade.

How about going and asking Baylor and Iowa St fans , probably TCU too , ask them how proud they are today ,? Baylor wins 3 games , the frogs missed a bowl after playing in the NC , and it doesn’t look much better for them. You take one season and think that’s the measuring stick for a team you idiot. Lots of teams win one year and then suck for 3-4 years. We don’t !! In fact I think we have won more B12 games total than any other team
Yep….and when you have the amount of money Texas does and it’s powerful boosters you better find someone within three years to get you into the CFP. Can’t really fault them for trying.
I’m glad you mentioned that. Which two programs in the conference have the most recent conference titles, and which one has won a CFP game? I’ll give you some hints. Two of these teams wear purple, and the other wears gold and green.

We all know the answer to this. Also the real difficulty for a coach/team is just getting to the CC game. Playing the actual CC game leaves a lot of things to chance with regard to winning a title. E.g. actually winning the CC game is less of an accomplishment than making the CC show at least in my book. Finally it is very likely that we lose the game this weekend which will leave HCMG with just one B12 title still. No one in their right mind would fire him for that reason.

I didn’t say that wins don’t matter. I’m asking what we have to show for them at the end of the season? Because it’s certainly not conference title trophies. It’s not an abundance of NY6 trophies. So what do we have besides a trophy from one of the 40+ bowl games out there? Yes, fans like to win. Nobody said they don’t. I’m telling you that trophies that are tough to win mean more than a team being #10 in wins. I could brag about winning all day long, but someone will also point out to me that Baylor and K State have more conference titles recently. You see how this works now?
So you’re okay with being a consistent loser when it comes to conference trophies? You don’t want to hoist conference championship banners on the campus? So you don’t care about recruiting? Then you guys wonder why we can’t ever get over the hump. I’d say the same thing to if I could never win it.
