If he can’t beat a second year coach for a conference title and almost lost to a first game coach at ND I don’t know what makes you think he would surpass championship caliber coaches or even get to that level. In regards to getting whatever coaches he wants it won’t matter if he’s forcing them to run his playbook.

The coach before saban did have two conference title at msu.
Saban and Gundy’s records after 5years at msu and osu are almost identical. Except gundy 2and 2 in bowls and sanan lost all 3 of his. Gundy was ranked year 4 and 5.

Gundy has coached against 5 coaches that are all-time winningest at their schools. Briles is arguable baylors best. Campbell will be in 2 or 3 years. Like I told even kansas has a 22 and 1 team. Nebraska was still good and we had a&m. Dana was wv second winningest. He justdoesn’t understand that these coaches just dnt collect pay checks.
Personal I dnot understand why players flock to sec schools. When they could go to osu and play and win.

Like Mohammed he is high ranking. The think he is going to go to a&m. They already have 2 high 4 stars commit. He has a cousin in the nfl Green that played at osu. Another cousin that’s starting this year and as far as I can see will be draft. We got Daniels from a&m he mite start this year at safety. He would probably only have to sit 1 year.
Alot of this just builds ego’s. Se with nil. Those deals only last for a few years. If you never play it stops . Like woods deal how knows if he stayed what he would have done. And both the dB that left this year more then both would have been draft here.
SEC country is just full of good recruits. Larger populations, outside of Alabama, Georgia, maybe Florida the rest of the league is not much tougher than ours. A lot of that too is ESPN constantly pushing the SEC.
Gundy hasn’t had trouble beating anyone but the goons. Baylor got ahead during Briles later years and we have split the last 4 I think.
We have a lot of nice recruits , wish we had a 2 deep though. The ones we have are in the skill positions too. Recruiting is a gamble anyway, gonna get worse if the NCAA does put a damper on the amount of money they get. Don’t know if they can ever stop it now
Yes depth on defense killed us for years. We 2 or 3 classes on the offense that players didn’t pan out.

If your a 90 going off to Alabama their will be at least 2 higher then in each classes.

How many so called top ten in wins teams have lost 6 years in a row to one team 2 different times in the last 17 years? How would Gundy have done against competition that OU couldn’t even beat? My guess is we would have had the other team kneeling at the goal line every year. OSU would be right in line with Missouri if we were in the SEC. Easy to see how Gundy was avoiding competition like the plague.

We do I start. Gundy is in line with osu record with ou. Tennessee has never beaten Alabama since saban been there. Michigan has 3 or 4 wins this century to tosu. Matt Campbell has never beaten iowa.

A real upset is when a 5 and 6 team wins bedlam. Not a underachieving stoops team wins a game.
As I’ve said before. The OSU administration and fans aren’t the same as some SEC administration and fans. We can’t even win a conference title now even with OU eliminated from the picture. Gundy won’t go to those schools because the leash isn’t as long. We’ve settled for stability and those programs want more than just stability.

If Patterson had Gundy’s record at TCU, would he still be the coach? Does his 3 finishes in the top ten in the last decade compared to Gundy’s 1. Meaning he’s highs are higher and his lows are lower, so our expectations are lower or mediocre is our expectations.
