Here’s the deal – ou could suck and almost get beat by Kansas, possible lose another game due to being bad (for ou), but when they play us in Bedlam they play like they’re freaking Alabama on steroids.
I hate it that we can have a good chance to beat ou every so often, but when it really comes down to game time, Gundy goes into the fetal position and starts channeling Pat Jones.
It’s frustrating as hell.
ou is not good this year. But neither are we. We have a good defense, but our offense is predictable (thanks to our OC and Gundy’s game day philosophy.
When it comes to playing ou, we had better leave everything on the table and play like our hair’s on fire.
I hate ou. I have never liked them. I’ve been a long time Cowboys fans since Tony Pounds QB’d OSU to a 66-6 Bedlam loss in Norman back when the planet was just coming out of the last ice age. So, don’t tell me I’m not a fan. I’m a fan, but I’m a realist too.
I’d bet $100 bucks on ou if it would gauranty an OSU Bedlam win. But as long as Gundy continues to coach Bedlam like Pat Jones, we’re set for another heartbreaking, opportunity to cash in on a bad ou team and year.
No one in this league looks unbearable Joey…… get over the fact we could win out or lose a couple. Your goons have the toughest row to hos. I St has the second hardest …. Can’t believe I couldn’t write the word H. O. E.
you guys showed just how bad of homers you are. There is no way we don’t lose at least 1 more, especially to OU. We always implode and lose to teams we shouldn’t lose to, i would not be shocked if we choked one away to TCU, Tech, or WVU. Then there is the yearly Gundy coaching scared vs OU annihilation incoming. Can’t punt from OUs 35 and expect to win which I have a feeling will happen.
U just found how much pull usc has.
Alabama is still Alabama. Tenn just saw Alabama lose got a new coach. Sec football. U know as bad as tenn is they still fill a 100,000 person stadium.
This started out comparing isu osu to usc crap.
Soon usc will be bringing in gender challenged players.
Or completely drop football for Frisbee sports.
Exactly!!! I don’t understand what makes us think we can talk chit about OU sucking when we’ve only had two games where we’ve just barely won by double digits all season so far.
Gundy becomes his own worst enemy down the stretch. Look at the TCU game last year. He was coaching to kick field goals instead of touchdowns, and he lost. Look at Bedlam last year. He practically just gave up.
How about taking the orange shades off and looking at this football program overall for what it is?
U guys go and pick out a few games we have lost and say we choke.
I’m going to use some facts one of are older member has pointed out. Jug aka ar1 in his wisdom( captain obvious) has said we recruit closer to ku then ou.
If gundy has a team ranked( because he is a good coach) plays a team with similar player and lose. Is that a choke. Do these other teams not want to play hard and win.
Stoop lead his team to a loss to a 5 and 6 osu team is a choke. Bill self losing to oru repeatedly ic a choke.
Roy Williams with 2 first team all Americans losing to Bucknell is a choke.
I know our recruiting is closer to the other 7 teams. With Gundy’s success it’s made are fan base more like ou’s. We should win these next for games. But if we go into wv and lose. It’s not a choke. They have 85 players that play for a power 5 school, coached by a guy making millions. In front of good fans that want a win.
If anything we have learned from the teams we will play they have given ou all they wanted, and u guys pointed out were not ou.
So, if u guys want to use some logic or just get back to reality. This is a predicted 7.5 5th place team.
"You just found out how much pull USC has". A good indication for the type of job a place is can be judged by what type of names they can hire. Let me ask you a question. If the OSU or Iowa St job opened up…what type of names would be mentioned for taking those jobs? The USC job opened up…what type of names have been floated around? Dude, you can spout off dumb stuff about USC all you want. But the people that have a clue know what kind of job that is. You just arent one of them.
"Tenn just saw Alabama lose got a new coach." What in the wide-world of illiterate cockfighters does this mean?
Who is usc hiring. Does anybody think usc will get a good hc from another team. Can usc steal a hc from another bb school.
They will get what they have gotten. A hc from a a middle leave team or a oc that wants to make a name for himself. Tell me the last big time coach they hired.
Osu and isu is not hiring so I dnt see why u go there.
The point of the exercise here isnt who they will end up hiring. The point is who they COULD get. Urban Meyer’s name gets tossed around. (No, I dont think that happens at all). Could USC get an Urban Meyer type? Hell yes. Could OSU or ISU? Hell no. Could USC hire the hot new young OC? Hell yes. Could OSU or ISU? Hell no. Could USC hire a current NFL HC? Hell yes. Could USC or ISU? Hell no.
I “went there” because you compared USC-ND to OSU-ISU ratings as somehow an attempt at downgrading their status as a blueblood
Will Aranda look to leave Baylor? I would think LSU, USC and others would be interested. Don’t know if he would return to LSU after his former HC got canned.
Is usc still thought of as a good job.
They will not get an urban Meyer type. That’s a joke.
They can’t get a good coach like Franklin or Campbell.
They will get a Shark or lane type coach like when they got them.
Go coaches see what they got and what they would get.
Oregon has come in and taken recruits we have given offers to. Usc hasn’t.
Usc is closer to Nebraska status then Alabama. But if u want to keep towing the line for them ok.
With the lsu job open they now will get the leftovers of lsu. I wouldn’t be surprised they move faster to keep ahead of lsu.
I’m under the impression that if Gundy ever did leave (which he won’t) and Urban Meyer wanted to coach college ball so badly again he could get the OSU job (which he won’t because OSU doesn’t want any drama).
Yet, I understand the point your getting at. If OSU, ISU, and USC were all open at the same time it’s a no brainer to go to USC.
The administration at LSU is crazy. They are currently in a division with the best coach in college football history, and just fired a guy only 17 games after winning a national title.
Now should Orgeron went 8-9 afterwards? Probably not, but that’s also considered the hardest division in college football. I think Aranda would be best served to stick around Baylor a couple of more seasons and improve his resume a little more.
