In a weird way, he equalizes himself, right? Scores 30-35 points…but gives up a ton if a team is willing to isolate him.
Most nights he will be a positive as teams don’t typically have 3 ball handling guards who can attack so they can hide him on a perimeter guy. Think like if Roberson was still around, they’d hide Harden on Roberson and wouldn’t switch on picks with Harden. He also has Capella to help when they get past him but Capella had 5 fouls decently quick yesterday and had to sit a bunch.

That’s a good point, I guess. A lot of teams don’t have to worry about Roberson (or Ferguson, for that matter). Robes, though, for all the crap people can say about him, is one of the only guys in the league capable of shutting down Harden. Or he WAS (some are speculating he’s probably done with basketball).
Harden is getting figured out more and more but Roberson was probably the best on ball defender in the league. He shut everyone down. Also I would be shocked to see him on a basketball court ever again.

I am fully on board with the Thunder if they decide they want to roll the dice and try to fill the roster with an extra difference maker. They’re 7 games over .500, which I didn’t think was possible.
2019 through 45 games - 27-18
2020 through 45 games - 26-19

I wish. No way they let him go. I doubt the Thunder do anything at the deadline. Still might, but it doesn’t seem like much will happen. They might deal Roberson to get his contract off the books and get under the tax. If they could find a team willing to take it.

Maybe they’re making the fanbase a bit greedy. It’s almost like a zombie-like nature. All that winning for all those years was nice, and now given the prospect of…MORE WINNING…people like me are all “get someone good…get someone good” like a zombie trying to find a human to eat.
The OKC fan base is spoiled. This is a feel good story like Russ’s scorched earth season. They’re playing with house money.

@ScottCorken, so let’s say the Thunder go all in. Who is your dream pickup, that could be available? Who do you think moves the needle in such a way that the team can compete with the LAs?
I would say that they can “compete” right now with the LA’s. The Lakers have no depth, so our bench would most likely be able to keep us in games if they play well. The Clippers may “load manage” themselves in to a poor situation in the playoffs and Utah or Denver may get them early. To the point of adding someone to put over the top, I’m not sure who is realistically available to do that. I’d love Brandon Ingram, we’ve talked about KAT, but realistically those aren’t happening. It won’t happen either but Bertans would be a phenomenal add. He has the size to play the 4-5 when Noel or Adams is hurt or sitting out. He can get his own shot and shoots well of the pass as well.
It’s looking more and more like OKC stands pat. Doesn’t make any deals and rolls the dice with what it’s got.

The Thunder are now nine games over .500. Continuing to go upwards. Could probably win tonight. There’s this part of me that wants to really see what they can do with a trade or two. I feel like it could be a wasted season, in a sense.
I took some time away from the Chamber, then Kobe happened. It was upsetting to say the least.
A win tonight puts them in the 6 spot, with tie breakers against both Dallas and Houston. This team is good. So strange. Like I have said before, the Thunder are playing with house money. If they win and do well, awesome, if they level off and slump, that’s okay we’ve got a billion picks and ways to improve. One thing ownership has made clear is they want to stay as close to or under the tax line as possible. So high profile guys are mostly out of the picture.
Another thing about the Thunder is unless they want people to know, nobody will know what the Thunder are doing. They are extremely close to the chest on everything they do. We most likely won’t know until a deal is done
